Hey ladies. He’s getting away with that, to be fair.
Frank Worthington - I was too young to appreciate that look on men in the 70s but being older now that's a look I can appreciate. Not sure that it will ever come back or have the same feel though.
I went to a wedding in Wales, mid 1980s. I was the only male not sporting a tache. It had a bit of a children of the corn vibe, the whole day seemed strange, or rather not the type of wedding I was used to. I wonder if they're still in vogue in that part of the world.
As a grey former ginger, I could have one and no-one would ever know.
Well, as a current ginger, or titian as hairdressers inform me, I've sported a tache for most of my adult life. Don't know why I grew it as I was a skinhead when it first appeared, so not really into hair at the time.
But a strange(ish) though true story - summer of '78, I was walking down the Harrow Rd where just before the William IV I met two Irish itinerants. The female asked if I had a spare fag, whereupon I said sure and passed one over, the gent was watching keenly so I offered him one as well, both beamed, all happy people. As I turned the lady remarked on my hair, uttered what sounded like some sort of religious tract and put her hand on my shoulder, she then informed me that I'd never go bald, and I'd retain my red hair forever. An unusual run in but a few minutes of my life I've never forgotten and, as those who know me on here will confirm, I have a full head of red hair.
