Doesn't matter that they scored our goals, we won it 3-2 overall and were crowned winners that night! FACT!

Anfield '86 on 11:28 - Oct 28 with 4437 views | PlanetHonneywood | I heard a great story - if true - about Paul Barron. He was on his holiday and sunning himself with Mrs. B when this kid came over and threw sand on him. Barron let it go at first but then chased the kid after a second incident. He gets hold of the kid and asks why he's throwing sand on him. Only to be told 'My dad told me to do it because you cost us the treble'. Barron somewhat miffed, asks him to point out his dad only for the kid to point to Kenny Dalgleish! Liverpool won the league and FA Cup that year and lost out on the treble when we beat them over two legs in the Milk Cup. Definitely happened, I was there for both games. Absolutely, 100% happened. FACT!

Anfield '86 on 12:48 - Oct 28 with 4149 views | dsw2509 | I was there too. Drove over from Bradford with a uni friend. He knew where to park near the ground and warned me not to open my mouth if we were challenged by any of the local ‘yoof’. Better a tyke than a cockney in Liverpool, I suppose. He also negotiated the ‘mind yer car mister’ with an urchin no more than 10 years old. The game was great though. My main memory is that nobody realised the second gold had gone in until Robinson (rip, what great bloke) got up and started celebrating. The ground drops behind the goal line in front of the Kop so it was all out of our line of sight. We got back to the car after the game and all was well, surprisingly. We made it back to Shipley for beers afterwards (lock in!). Happy days.

Anfield '86 on 13:37 - Oct 28 with 3943 views | CLAREMAN1995 | Still remains one of my favorite memories ever .Went down to a pub in Clare and shockingly they had the game on way on in the wall on a tiny tv with no sound. I fought my way through the few regulars and watched with pure joy as QPR took down the giants Its a sobering feeling knowing all 3 are gone life is not fair sometimes R.I.P.

As was the train leaving edghill, spent the entire journey home stood up in the guards van, what pissed me off most was that a few Liverpool fans had sneaked on board and there was no spare seats in any of the other carriages. [Post edited 28 Oct 2022 13:44]

Beating Liverpool over two legs back then was a proper big deal, a brilliant time to be a Rangers fan. Shame the final got called off, we would definitely have won it [Post edited 29 Oct 2022 0:02]

Yep, I got winded when we got our 2nd goal from the crush barrier and as I leaned over a 2nd wave smacked my head into it and sparked me. I woke up on the side of the pitch with a silver foil blanket around me and the St/ Johns looking after me. I also had a massive sore thigh from where, so my brother told me, a copper vaulted over the barrier and landed on my leg. Back on the train and just outside Edge Hill? a brick comes through the window right by my head and we ended up in the unlit mail car for the trip home; freezing cold, body hurting everywhere but a trip to Wembley to look forward to but even that was cancelled.

Anfield '86 on 10:53 - Oct 30 with 2544 views | themodfather | back then , there is a strong case to say Liverpool WERE the best team in the world, having won many european cups, titles etc and a decade, for QPR to beat them over 2 legs was magnificent ( and beat chelsea and forest ? before that, they weren;t too bad either) feat. so what they scored 2 own goals, just shows we were attacking, in their box and putting them under pressure. happy times.
Anfield '86 on 15:05 - Oct 30 with 2364 views | Airtomoreira | Funnily enough, the thing I seem to remember most about that game is the ease with which we saw out the last 10 minutes or so when Liverpool needed to score. You could have expected a siege on our goal, but it just never happened. I'd normally be a nervous wreck in such a situation, fearing the worst, but it was all so comfortable.
