That Piroe header on 07:19 - Aug 22 with 858 views | YrAlarch | His heading seems to be a fundamental weakness with him and has been from the outset. Surely a deterrent to serious interest from Premier League clubs. Perhaps not such a bad thing for us then.

That Piroe header on 12:25 - Aug 21 by Dr_Parnassus | They haven’t though. Gallagher was free Guehi was free Brewster was free Hourihane was a few hundred thousand (cant remember exactly £240k rings a bell) Wilmott was free Kalulu ??? Woodman ??? Surridge??? We were in that market because we had such little disposable income. These youth products were big risks and gambles, many only had youth experience only. Chelsea are notorious for not charging fees for their loan army. We didn’t pay a fee for Tammy Abraham either. I’d say we probably spent as much under Martin on loans in 1 season than we did under Cooper in 2. Hourihane was the only “significant” signing but it was no more than Ogbeta for example. |
A loan is rarely free. | |

That Piroe header on 13:56 - Aug 22 with 707 views | Flashberryjack | Piroe is very good player IMO, he's going through a lean patch at the moment, but most strikers go through one at some point in their career. I'm absolutely positive he will come good again, my only worries are, how long it will take for him to come through his goal drought, and in which position our inept manager decides to play him.

That Piroe header on 11:39 - Aug 21 by magicdaps10 | A lot of pressure on him to reproduce his show from last season, I feel a little bit for the lad but he is young and inconsistency is a tough thing to handle especially when you are striving for that 1st goal of a new season. I said a few weeks back, Leeds seem to be the name mentioned with him in dispatches and that would be a deal we should be interested in especially with Cody Dramah possibly being part of anything. The issue is, as he struggles with goals and the window coming up faster, 15M will easily become 10M. And I believe that Watford might also be playing the waiting game aswell along with 1 or 2 others. Hold onto your hats because if things go as the club want, the last day of the window is going to be a busy one at the .Com |
Seems like the moves have been made by a few clubs in regards to Piroe. A replacement striker is now on the short list of what is needed between now and the close of the window. Right back Creative midfielder Striker

Agree wth you, if there was a more attacking ethos at the club maybe the lean patch would end a little sooner. Watford have turned down officers of around £25m for a couple of their strikers and they’re awaiting increased bids. If they do Gilla and Newcastle go back in with better bids, then I’d say there could be movement.

But he is still here today! Bit like me telling you that it's going to be sunny on a Friday eventually. 😜

I didn’t say he will leave one day though, did I… I said he’s not happy, doesn’t like Martin and I would be surprised if he is still here by Xmas. Dad and agent trying to find him a move. Just like when I told you Pato wasn’t part of the plans after a second falling out with Martin and he didn’t start another game. Just like I said Ogbeta was frozen out of the weekend plans despite playing the game before - and then wasn’t even in the squad. Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and listen. At the end of the day, he wants to move up the ladder and he will want more money. If we want to strengthen and we arguably need a few then the club will sell. We will sell, earmark a couple of quid for 2/3 younger platers to come in and the board will hope to sell 1 or more player for a few million next summer. The board will hope that one season it will click and we might give promotion a good go but we all know with youngsters that it could easily go the other way.........confidence and attitude is a major dealing when you have younger players, it's a gamble. For me, I feel we need to strengthen the squad so selling Piroe and using some of that money on a right wing back, a midfielder and a striker to replace Piroe is the correct route to go down. It's the only option really.

If a club does lodge a firm and acceptable offer the club will be selling with getting rid of Martin in the back of their minds, there will be no wild splashing of cash on players. We are still running over budget after giving Martin so much money. So while we may pick up some cheaper players, the bulk will have to go on the players Martin brought in already plus the eventuality of paying him and his staff off. That’s the reality of the situation.
