Antivax nonsense on here. 19:15 - Jun 18 with 10838 views | Professor | Is incredible. Complete conspiracy bunkum. For christ sake celebrate the fact that we don’t have 100s dying with the current case rate. No one is trying to control you. Just get vaccinated and protect lives. Enough. I speak this as an ordinary Joe. I want my daughter to go to university in September with proper teaching. I want my son to take his GCSEs next year and have a clear year without constant uncertainty. I want to go back to my office and my lab to do what I do well. Not zoom followed by teams and recording lectures and virtual lab meetings. Vaccines, lockdowns or corpses. That’s the choice. Don’t be a selfish dicky, help yourself and help other.

Antivax nonsense on here. on 12:39 - Jun 19 by JACKMANANDBOY | Very true, how big are these pyramids? |
Oh biggee than the Great Pyramid of Giza apparently. You'd have to wonder why, with all the searching done in the triangle over the decades, with SONAR and satellite capabilities, why they hadn't been spotted sooner. Well because they're not there obviously but still people believe!

Antivax nonsense on here. on 12:09 - Jun 19 by KeithHaynes | Opinions when put over sensibly are welcome. Regardless of the opinion of the opinion 👠We are very lucky to have the OP starting this thread. One of the best posters on here by a long, long way. It starts debate, and that’s what we are all about.

Antivax nonsense on here. on 12:08 - Jun 19 by Catullus | Yet these strangers on the internet, why do they do what they do? Do you think it's for everyone's benefit or because they're looking for fame and fortune? And you think the rest of us are barinwashed. Naive doesn't begin to cover it. When the Prof posts on here, whether he's dismantling a post or agreeing with it, there' nothing in it for him. He's not making money or raising his profile, that's why I'd trust what he says, there's nothing in it for him. These starngers on the www, they normally have a book or two for sale or a subscription website which usually carries some kind of meesage like the subs go to pay for spreading "the truth" so we can inform people and sock it to the "establishment" Truthfully, these people who believe the BBC is bought and paid for but the stranger on the internet is 100% trustworthy, they're as dumb and naive as anyone. |
Or alternatively they are doing their job. Have you even considered that?

Antivax nonsense on here. on 12:24 - Jun 19 by JACKMANANDBOY | Differet countries take different views, here's one from Germany. https://www.dw.com/en/homeopathy-leave-system-as-it-is-decides-germanys-spahn/a- I have no issue with alternative therapy. My neck problem was solved through acupuncture, my doctor only offered pain killers. My brother has a chronic heart problem which his cardiologist says is caused by the long term effects of anti-inflamatory drugs for his mild arthritis, had he known he says he would not have taken the drugs. This is what prompted me to look at alternatives. The opioid crisis in the States illustrates the need to think carefully in these matters. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-02686-2 |
My mother is an acupuncturist. I am extremely skeptical it has any physiological effect. Yet it clearly helps a lot of people with chronic pain and other conditions which may be through a beneficial psychological effect. Either way it causes no harm and if it works for you then great and I fully support its use as a complementary therapy. Where I have an issue is with homeopathy which is quackery of the top order and unlike most other therapies claims to be a primary therapeutic tool. The opioid issue in the US is horrendous-not helped by its healthcare system and the fact that prescription drugs can be advertised to the public.

The opioid problem here is growing, Prof. I've been addicted to painkillers, fortunately I realised very early on and did something about it.

I appreciate that you are sceptical, my experience was that three years of pain disappeared after one acupuncture session and has not returned so I'm in favour. I don't understand the why but it worked.

You have just described every single Climate, Medical, Pharmaceutical Scientist all over the world. Plus every drug dealer, thief and con artist Plus everyone else who has a job. Well done. Now how about some realism, what do you think happens to people that go against the Concensus? They get attacked from every direction, lose work, financing and sometimes their jobs. Which is why so many of them stick to the concensus position.

When acupuncture helps animals (people's pets) I don't think it has much to do with psychiatry. Unless of course they can read their owners minds and act accordingly.

Good for you Cat. It is, as JACKMANDBOY, said an enormous problem. Very easy to prescribe for chronic pain, but like benzodiazepines in the past, have real addiction problems. Henc despite my skepticism I have no issue with acupuncture as it helps many.

I think that was sort of my point. It does something to/for a good proportion of people even if it makes no sense why. Pleased it worked for you and as I said it does not harm so has to be worth consideration

apparently the chinese believe the body has natural energy or chi. they also believe that this energy can become blocked through injury etc. . What the acupuncturist does is change the path the energy travels around the body by inserting needles. i suppose it 's a bit like a short circuit of the body's ley lines

That's very true .If you watch the video of Judy Mercovitz that's exactly what she said happened to her . The powers that be obviously thought she was posing a threat to the agenda being carried out .and reacted ruthlessly - they wouldn't have done that if someone was perceived as being a fruitcake just trying to sell books.
Antivax nonsense on here. on 19:29 - Jun 19 with 962 views | ExiledJack | Are concerns regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine complete conspiracy bunkum? There seems to be a split of opinions across different countries and even within the UK the positioning has changed with regards to who will be offered this particular vaccine. Who’s to say that the positioning won’t change for the other vaccines? Good luck to anyone who takes a vaccine and anyone who doesn’t I say. Nobody has all the answers, as comforting as it might feel to believe otherwise.

Alternatively these people were not good enough for mainstream so they made careers out of pushing hogwash? These conspiracy theorists and alternstive reality/rage against the establishment types have often got a failed career to look back on. Judy Mikovits ws a failed scientist who turned to the "alternative versions"

Antivax nonsense on here. on 19:39 - Jun 19 with 954 views | Dr_Winston | With regards to the AZ vaccine, you're talking a minute percentage. Hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions to one odds of there being a problem. Of course, these days people aren't allowed to die so the Govt have bottled it a bit, but anyone receiving the AZ vaccine, regardless of age, health or whatever, is at more risk driving to the vaccination hub than they are actually getting it. We should never have stopped issuing it to any group. I had two AZ jabs with absolutely no side effects whatsoever.

I looked carefully at my risks. Chance of dying this year at my age 1 in 100. Chance of dying from Covid as a healthy person of my age this year 1 in 5000 Chance of dying from AZ vaccine 1 in 500,000. My biggest risk is the normal pre-covid one associated with the fact I'm alive in the first place.

Antivax nonsense on here. on 07:31 - Jun 19 by Catullus | Thi is why I've often asked why people will believe some person on the internet but not the BBC, ITV news etc? Why is a complete stranger, specialy a discredited one, more reliable a source than the BBC or ITV? The internet is a free for all with far too many nut jobs. Loonies of every description have been given a platform. I'd rather believe the Prof! |
