Labour manifesto on 08:41 - Nov 27 by felixstowe_jack | Any views on Jeremy's performance while being interviewed by Andrew Neil last night? |
It was pretty excruciating watching him squirm on the WASPI funding question. He didn't seem fully aware of the stats on what % of tax the top 5% of earners already pay. And if he had just given an immediate straight answer on the AS issue he wouldn't have spent 10 minutes being trussed up like a sinewy turkey.

Just wait until he nails Boris. I think someone should grill Andrew Neil over this: "As editor of the Sunday Times in 1992, he hired Britain’s foremost Holocaust denier, Nazi apologist David Irving, to work on the Goebbels diaries. To hire a sympathiser of Hitler and denier of the worst atrocity in history to do respectable work for a national newspaper — to offer a reputational lifeline to a man who should have been treated as a pariah — was a disgrace for which he has never apologised. As the Wiener Library, the oldest institution devoted to the study of the Holocaust, said at the time: “David Irving denies the gas chambers. Anyone who deals with him is tainted with that.”" [Post edited 27 Nov 2019 15:30]

The decision to engage the services of David Irving had no political overtones at all, Eb. Like it or not, and I seem to remember the Wiener Library acknowledging at the time, Irving was foremost in a minute handful of people capable of deciphering the diaries which were densely printed on a mountain of glass photographic negatives. Irving was also the one to declare the ‘Hitler Diaries’ fake much to the embarrassment of the staff at Wiener and the Oxbridge establishment who had been completely gulled.

It seems that Johnson has not yet agreed to be interviewed despite other parties being told that he was being interviewed as part of the series. If that proves to be true, the BBC need to answer questions very, very quickly about what the hell is going on.

Anyone still claiming left wing bias at the BBC after the first weeks of this election campaign clearly can’t be watching closely enough.

Correct. LK is surgically attached to Cummings. She's even promoted his blog today. What a sad state of affairs and demonstrates that the Beeb is at a crossroads. If the Tories get a majority and with it Brexit, I fear for the Beeb.

F*ck me, have you seen the Emily Maitlis show lately. She asks a Brexiteer a question and then answers it for them (if I was a guest she’d probably tell me that I am an AfD supporter...you know the type). How about a Question Time panel last week with not a single Brexiteer. We all know what the BBC’s game is and John Humphries confirmed it for everyone, as if it was ever in doubt.

That poor girl is the last decent journalist left at the BBC! I’m sure she is a ‘Remainer’ but continues to do her job professionally without bias. Which of course makes her public enemy no. 1 with you lot for not getting with the ‘Remainer’ propaganda and not letting her standards slip.

I notice you have conveniently forgotten about the tory plants in the audience every single week. Look at last week's latest clown and his "I earn over 80k and not in the top 5%" bollox.

Imagine the uproar if someone from the Labour party was associated with Irving? There is something very dodgy about Neil, his aggressive stance which tries to make the whole event all about himself. Much preferred Paxman IMHO.

Labour manifesto on 09:53 - Nov 28 with 1657 views | WarwickHunt | The words “brewery” and “piss-up” spring to mind... Scottish Labour officials confirmed a report in the Falkirk Herald it had dropped Safia Ali as a candidate and suspended her party membership after past antisemitic posts on Facebook surfaced, in the latest controversy about candidate selections. Michael Sharpe, Scottish Labour’s general secretary, told the Falkirk Herald: I deeply regret the people of the Falkirk constituency will no longer have a Labour candidate to campaign and vote for on December 12. There is no place for antisemitism, or any form of racism and bigotry, in our party. That is why Labour is taking robust action to root it out of our movement and wider society.
