Chairman Statement on 17:51 - May 21 with 4452 views | TheKirkyLife | You know what stood out out to me the most? "Therefore, I will be looking to hire a new Head of Recruitment and build a robust scouting structure, which we don’t have at present." The honesty was refreshing and reading between the lines I actually believe that this is someone who knows what they are doing. We know who is on the payroll and needs to be shifted - Montero, Carroll etc. We also know that they tried their best to keep Potter; a statement of intent rather than just letting him go. Well done, Mr. Birch. Best of luck this Summer because you'll need it.

It still won't be enough for quite a few on here, mark my words. They will still go on about assurances, siphoning money off to pay for Rooneys wages etc. Well done Trev, great statement.

Chairman Statement on 17:59 - May 21 with 4334 views | Tim_Harry | Very positive statement and it's good to see that we seem to be looking for a manager that will be suited to the club's traditional playing philosophy. Unlike the random potshots we were taking in the Prem from Monk through to Carvalhal. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That was the upgrade from Huw googling “footballers with dreadlocks who have been linked to Swansea City in the past”.

He was just a well paid consultant, he wasn't the entire scouting team, which at the time included Brian Flynn and Gerhard Tremmell. We let all of them go before Potter came in. And now there's no one at all with is team gone.

Chairman Statement on 18:06 - May 21 with 4224 views | longlostjack | Good statement. I seem to remember a previous Chairman promising to review recruitment. Let’s hope Mr Birch’s words are followed by sensible actions and he can ignore any silly suggestions from the clueless owners.

Someone else in the wide world of football who isn’t Jenkins capable of doing a job at the club! Fûcking staggering, eh?

Chairman Statement on 18:12 - May 21 with 4141 views | majorraglan | He’s articulating what most already suspected, but it’s great to see him coming out and actually engaging with the supporters. What he’s proposing sounds very sensible and will hopefully improve the club going forward.

Funnily enough he's ticked a lot of the boxes that previous Trust statements, including yesterday's, have called for. I think it's a very good statement. Good to see. Now to see it put into practice.

Chairman Statement on 18:16 - May 21 with 4060 views | NotLoyal | Now we are either being led over the cliff by a total cùnt, and the gullible are being fooled the same way as McClure, Hamer, Day and Lewis did or he is a man of integrity and can be trusted. And he obviously read my thread on communication.

No a heard it all before type of person. It’s a great statement, far better than we are used to hearing. Ticks most of the boxes people want to hear. If he delivers on it I will be happy. However he is a new and unknown quantity for us and needs to deliver on a few things before i’ll Start doing a happy dance.
Chairman Statement on 18:20 - May 21 with 3996 views | jackharris | Taking into consideration where the club finds itself at the moment that was a very positive statement from the Chairman. We were never going to stop Potter from jumping ship with the offer received but at least we tried. He will not have the safety net with him that we afforded him. Such as our defence (especially at set plays) and the chopping and changing of formation etc... This will be the hardest season to be a Premier League Manager and I can’t see him surviving.
| Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year. | Poll: | What is your favourite Knock? |
