fingers crossed for BBM 23:00 - Mar 8 with 21196 views | crazyhorse | Bit nervous and raw in the interview. However an honest man and his humble demeaner shows through. I imagine he's blown away with the opportunity to manage at league level. His family also. Only a few games to prove himself. really looking forward to the game, 2nd game in two years after drifting away and hope he can juice a great performance out of this rabble.

fingers crossed for BBM on 17:27 - Mar 9 by 442Dale | There was definitely more fight today and as others have said, five at the back is the answer for now. Lonergan has been brilliant, if we stay up I’d hope we sign him. |
I missed the attendance and MOM announcements. Anyone know what they were?

Maybe on loan again if we do stay up but there's more chsnce of Calvin bagging 20 next year than us getting him permanently

A draw after being 2 up with 5 minutes left would have been an absolute disaster. At least we are still in with a shout of safety although other results weren’t great. Roll on Oxford |
Cheers to both. | |

Nkosi (as you call him) got MOM (deserved)
fingers crossed for BBM on 17:39 - Mar 9 with 2792 views | SaxonDale | Few thoughts from me for today- The three in the middle at the back were superb today, as others have said any could have been MOM. Give Kosi the security of 2 others playing alongside him and he’s a real asset, lost count of the headers he won. BBM deserves credit for how he set us up- it was as close to a no fear set up as we’ve seen for a while. We really tried to defend by giving them something to worry about from our attack- Bunney and McLaughlin pushed up to pretty much makes front 5 for certain parts of the game. Them last few seconds could create a really positive bounce going into Tuesday. I don’t know how the ball stayed out- last week it wouldn’t but the contrast in the 2 groups of players at full time was clear for all to see. All in all a much needed result and hats off to BBM. We weren’t perfect today and there are still some obvious weaknesses in the squad but play like that and we have a fighting chance.

It was an incredible/excruciating couple of seconds.

fingers crossed for BBM on 17:41 - Mar 9 with 2758 views | Shun | The back 3 were brilliant today. EEL’s the best defender we’ve had since O’Connell and Kgosi (where does Nkosi come from?!) got a goal and an assist. Lonnergan, some of those saves were ‘wow’-worthy. A great return for Rathbone too, he provides so much more energy to our midfield. All 3 subs were poor and made us much weaker. Andrew and Dooley are both going through really really poor spells lately and it’s a shame an in-form Done didn’t get in ahead of them. That foul on Henderson should have been a red card. Ridiculous decision. He was clean through. Any other defenders in the vicinity were further from goal than him. He literally had a clean run between him and the goalkeeper. Should’ve been a red card.
fingers crossed for BBM on 17:41 - Mar 9 with 2752 views | D_Alien | Couldn't believe what i'd just seen after that last 30 seconds. If BBM is a lucky manager i'll take that, but we deserved it in the end despite being under pressure for long periods Gutted for Lonergan that he didn't manage a first clean sheet, he was brilliant and realistically got us the 3 points when any other keeper we've had this season would've conceded more. Having said that, i was pleased with our defence. Thought Big Jim was superb, EEL solid as ever and both fullbacks had very good games, Ntlhe probably deserving MoM What was different about today? Not exactly sure, but we just looked less browbeaten and looking at the other results, we really needed those points. If we can follow that up on Tuesday, i'll be a bit more confident we can beat the drop. Other teams are starting to struggle, not least Shrewsbury & Accy [Post edited 9 Mar 2019 17:45]

He's 36 this year and out of contract in the summer, there'll probably be some competition for his signature but it's not completely outlandish that we sign him. [Post edited 9 Mar 2019 17:45]

Both myself and another long-term Dale fan alongside me agreed that Hendo had played for the foul by running across the man rather than following the ball. Yellow the right decision

Agree that EEL is our best defender since O’Connell. Would also say Lonergan is our best keeper since Logan-first spell.

fingers crossed for BBM on 15:55 - Mar 9 by Nigeriamark | 1-0 at half time. As you say Shrews certainly been on top for the last 20 mins and probably could be level. Having said that Hendos miss was hard to believe & let’s hope it doesnt come back to haunt us. EEL superb & MOM so far for me with Nkosi close behind. A lot of effort being shown but an important team talk now for BBM & lets see how he manages the substitutions. A bit of the luck of the Irish wouldn’t go amiss either!! |
Is Nkosi related to Andrews?

fingers crossed for BBM on 17:53 - Mar 9 with 2559 views | rochdale_ranger | FEw points from today: EEL is mint. Our defence was good today they really hunted in packs. Last week Hill said some home truths have been aired I took that as meaning he’s told certain players they aren’t up to much. BbM has motivated them. We looked sharper and our players looked like they wanted to receive the ball at throw ins etc. We didn’t fall apart at set pieces. We scored from a corner! Robbie Williams has put way too much timber on.

I don’t understand that. If it’s a foul it’s a foul. Last man. Red card. He was the last man, so red card. It doesn’t really matter that Hendo played for it because the referee deemed it a foul.

From the Sandy it looked a yellow as Henderson never really had the ball and looked like a long way out with others coming back. Happy to be told otherwise by those nearer.

He was about 40 yards from goal and there was at least one other defender in relevant proximity. The DOGSO test for the ref to consider is: *distance between the offence and the goal *general direction of the play *likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball *location and number of defenders [Post edited 9 Mar 2019 18:42]

Nkosi comes from me suddenly developing Dyslexia around his name !! I think I spelt it that way once and confirmed it in my spellchecker so it prompts that every time. Early signs of senility creeping in. I’d almost forgotten Rathbone, definitely brought some energy as you say. I checked on I follow the Hendo booking and agree that the left back who was the next closest would not have got back in time to stop Hendo shooting. However in fairness to the ref ( and in line with what Fitzochris thought) I had to check again on I follow because the incident was 40 yards from goal & it would have been hard to judge that nearest defender. The ref doesn’t get that choice & his angles would not have given him the best view ( where is VAR when you need it) Bit Harsh on ZC, he only came on in the 88th minute . I would like to see him get 2 or 3 full games, against weaker opposition especially. My 2 main worries after today would be having both Inman and Bunney in the starting 11 as I think they are both lightweight. I would start Tuesday with the other 9 starters from today and at max only one of those 2. I would like to see eitherZC or Done start

Henderson was ahead of his player, the other defender was behind play and never getting across to cover. It was also a deliberate foul too. If that wasn’t denying a clear goal scoring opportunity then I don’t know what is. I thought the referee was hapless on everything but time wasting, which made his 5+ minutes baffling. Anyway it was a good win. Heads totally went after they scored. Professional defenders turned to jelly. They had too many clear chances for me, but a win is a win. I think one of our regular goalkeepers needs to take an escape to victory so Lonergan can stay on emergency loan.

EEL got sent off for a similar one at Plymouth (albeit deliberate handball). That was never a red and neither was Hendo's due to the distance and circumstance
