I didn't say so here but I would have joined the naysayers. I thought him very ordinary and that he would not cut it in the prem, never mind at the top end with the wide boy scrapmerchants. I still can't believe he's not a flash in the pan, but his goals tell me I'm wrong.

Good player not used right.
Paul Clements has got to be one of the worst mangers we have.
He had some very players at his disposal, but he not have a clue

A very fair assessment Monny given that Tammy played like ‘Bambi on Ice’ for us ....but give him credit he has improved his all round game since leaving us & deserves the plaudits I guess but I’m not 100% convinced to be honest !!

Poll: Why is this site so quiet these days ?

He didn't though.

He was a young, talented, yet inexperienced forward stuck in a side under a cowardly manager and given almost nothing to work with for most of the season. As per usual around here when a forward is struggling for goals the first instinct was to blame him rather than wonder what other reasons there could be.

Writing Abraham off after that season as so many did was simply dumb. There was no way to tell for sure one way or another how he'd turn out in the long run. I'm pleased to see him do well and hope it continues.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It wasn't just Clement though, it was Carvalhal too that didn't fancy him. They probably were two of most yellow managerswe've had right enough, but we looked a lot better with Ayew up top. In fact we would probably have stayed up if Ayew hadn't got himself sent off. Abraham was just too young and inexperienced for the role those managers wanted to play, but I didn't think he had the materials to make it in prem, let alone the top of the prem. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. I was disappointed when we signed Routs too, thinking 'championship at best'.

I get the point about blaming the striker for the system and don't do that.

At the end of the day we were scrapping for our lives that year, and he was feeding off them scraps, Had he come around 5 years before our premier league demise he would have suited our free flowing football under Laudrup.

Timing was unfortunate on this one, worth a gamble on loan, didn't come off, much like Sanches in my opinion

He brought a lot of it on himself though, doing stupid little flicks and falling on his arse when he should have been doing the simple things. That was the frustrating thing with him. You could see a player in there but in the situation we were in someone on the coaching staff should have grabbed hold of him and told him to get the basics right first.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
Poll: Should Dippy Drakeford do us all a massive favour and just bog off?

True. I also remember him missing a few vital chances running towards the North Stand one on one on the keeper and either sticking it wide or trying to beat the keeper and not succeeding.
Inexperience.

I stand in the North Stand

Yeah when a simple square pass would have left an open goal for a team mate instead he tried a fancy chip which he missed.
