Hand holding is the in thing. Macron and trump have been doing a lot of it and Kim and that South Korean bloke.

Exactly my point.

Once again Britain has pioneered a major new invention but has failed to adequately build on that initial spark and fully capitalise on it commercially. The internal combustion engine, the computer, and now the Trump ass-kiss and ultra embarrassing hand holding.

Compare May's unsteady, somewhat fumbling ass-kissing with Macron's polished performance last week.

Probably all he said when Trump was in Paris was it would be a pleasure to see Trump's fine golf swing grace the links at Le Touquet. Next thing he is addressing Congress taking the piss out of Trump using brainy multi-syllable words he doesn't even understand.

Quel resultat! No wonder he was grinning like a Cheshire cat.

Of course the South Korean foreign minister said that.

He might have equally congratulated Trump on using his influence over the International Olympic Committee to hold the winter games in the Koreas.

Or suggested his voice is good enough to sing lead vocal for the Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra. Or that he is a better dancer than Lloyd-George.

World leaders now recognise that the key to successful diplomatic relations with the US is to tell Trump any old tosh you can make up that will sooth his massive narcissistic personality disorder.

Do that and you will be instantly invited to address joint sessions of congress, gain exemptions from his moronic tariffs, etc.

And I must say the usual jingoist suspects are missing a trick in failing to trumpet Britain's pioneering role in this major innovation. For it was clearly May's groundbreaking arse-kissing trip to Washington shortly after he was inaugurated where she cringingly held his hand in the White House that paved the way for this new diplomatic technique.

Of course they did, I doubt very many of the Worlds leaders take much notice of Trump, they all know he's full of wind and piss.

I've mentioned this somewhere else, but actually the fact that he is unhinged enough to follow through on his threats means that they would take notice. The North Korean dictatorship must have at least calculated that their best change of longevity was to negotiate for peace, because engaging in any form of military action would have resulted in their certain destruction.

Compare with Obama, whom the North Koreans knew full well would never ACTUALLY do anything. Just like he did nothing in Syria and look how that has ended up.
