Sold down the river again. on 20:05 - Jan 31 by Jack59
Problem is it looks suspiciously like the main reason we're going for Ayew. It's got to be shady hasn't it? Who really knows what the real deal is?
Hundreds of other good attacking players out there, but we choose one who we sold, but are still owed money for. Everyone can make their own mind up on that.
.....except that they DO NOT owe us anything anymore!
So used to all this......names, names, names and names and it looks like we end up with Andy King
Oh wait AND
The 10M extra put in, is not used.....I never saw that one coming.
You have ass bandits like Res and this new ass wit SwansX or whatever his name is, coming on here talking utter tripe!! Listen boys, you are either that thick or plants from the club.......either way, you both have major issues!!
As it stands and I hope I am wrong come 11pm, we have been taken down the garden path, promised hope and support and end up with a big kick up the bum come the gardens end.
If some are too thick to see it like Res and his little ass bandit mate then god help Swansea City Football Club.

What difference does it make it's still money the club won't be receiving.

Not many have proven themselves in the Premier League though.
We needed two others along with Ayew though in my opinion.

Wheeeey. I love your transfer window meltdowns daps.Like clockwork matey
"Michu, Britton and Williams could have won 3-0 on their own. They wouldn't have required a keeper."
If we don't end up with someone 'exciting' signing along with A. Ayew, I will be disappointed, especially as we've seen Mesa leave.
At one stage it was "we'll spend money as long as we're still in touch with the rest" and now they're hoping "the team that kept us in touch might just be good enough to stay up".
That's what I'm worried about.....
Fingers crossed that we at least get Markovic (along with Ayew).

Markovic would have been the better signing IMO, can't see it happening though.
We'll probably end up with Mr below average Andy King.

Can see why we would want a player like King to supplement the energy in midfield, my concern is whether we have the creativity to break down a team that puts all their men behind the ball and plays us on the break because he certainly won’t give us that.

Markovic would have given us a lot more creativity King IMO, and he's only 23, whereas King is 28.
Happy with Ayew coming back, but I think we've paid far to much for him, he's also 28 and on a 3 year contract, hope they've inserted a relegation clause in his contract.

Frankly, who cares. Everyone on here is turning into a bunch of amateur accountants and talking how I'd imagine Huw and his new American buddies go on.
What we spend is irrelevant. We've had enough failures recently to know that money doesn't guarantee a player will be a success. I'd rather have another Michu costing us £2m than another Baston costing us £15m or whatever stupid amount it was. Since when have we judged success by how much money we've spent on players? (answer = never).
If A. Ayew has anywhere near the impact he had last time he will strengthen us, which could make the difference between staying up and going down. That'll do me. I couldn't give a monkeys how much we spend unless they bankrupt us. I do care about us improving the team.

There is some significance in buying Ayew back.Although quite rightly we have spent the full fee costs,a large part of that money has been used to repay the Santander loans, rather than go directly to West Ham. Cash flow wise..clever.

The difference it makes is that it casts some doubt over the financial integrity of the deal. In the days when we were buying players at 100k it would have been of much less consequence, but at figures now reportedly approaching £20 million, a little more transparency would help gain some trust.

Bony had also proved himself in the Premier League and coincidentally we bought him back as well. There is definitely a trend at this club that you don't see elsewhere.

This is what proper Americans think about this transfer window...
They'll be delighted. Didn't spend much on transfers and saved on wages. Perhaps the Arsenal / Liverpool results DOF convinced them we don't need strengthening.

That would be ridiculous as we would have to have over 100 million in something TV revenue to afford that.
Well we do have that as you know and we can probably just about afford it.
Recently our wage bill was around 80% of our income. Add in the other costs of running a football club and considering we hardly make a fortune from ticket sales etc and there’s not an awful lot left

If players are sold and they don't put in a transfer request they get bonuses. I think that's what he is getting at.
yes but he made allowances (i think) for the other figures when he said siggy 37 million. I would like to see what the take home figure is. Spurs had a sell on clause which was 10% but that would have been on the difference of the profit. This would still be 3 + million and the loyalty bonus and agent fees so would be interesting to know what they are.
I wish the TV bubble would burst and these agents would rot and footballers would become people again.

I think it is a case of Carvahal wanting work horses. if we have a player like markovic, for some games the rest of the team could have been carrying him. We know what you get with ayew, king although not amazing a lot of leicester fans were sorry to him go.
Carvahal has clearly got a good idea of what type of players he wants. I quite like the sounds of a fully fit bony up top with Andre and Jordan drifting behind him.
Also probably mentioned before, the last time Andre was here we had sigurdsson and they always seemed to get in each others way.
