Since our Premier League survival is now confirmed I thought it was about time that we look positively to the future for those legendary £5 million Jenkins' Specials. Who knows? We may even spend £10 million on individual players. I'll be updating the thread with every transfer rumour I come across. Feel free to read, discuss and so forth.
First entry is the bi-annual "is Bony coming home?" rumour. The Daily Mail reports that City are ready to sell for £15 million with us and the Hammers ready to start negotiations.
Spurs already have a set piece specialist in eriksen. I really don't think siggy is anywhere near good enough for Spurs with his open play skills. That's not a dig at siggy but Spurs first 11 is superb and they'll need much better than siggy to improve.

Having a Spurs fan for a Dad he'd disagree with you big time. He'd have Gylfi in over Eriksen any day of the week. "More assists suggesting a better team player and better at corners by a country mile. We made a massive mistake in selling him because he didn't perform as a winger for us."

If and I repeat the word if Spurs are looking at gylfi because they think he is a cheaper option than Barkley then, based on gylfi's stats, we should be looking for a similar amount for gylfi that Everton want for Barkley. That is of course if we are or he is looking for a move anyway.

I actually really like this guy, and I think he would be a great addition to the squad. He provides a lot of what we lack out of midfield and the wing: creativity, end product, energy, aggression, composure.
A very good signing for us if it comes off at the right price. I'll take a guess and say £5m?
(edit: might as well add this)

Gylfi would surely count as a home-grown UK player. That should be worth an extra few million to any of the big boys that want to buy him.
Upthecity!

Watched many games in which Gross played this past season, and he is excellent. He will make an immediate impact next season, and I have a feeling he'll lead them to safety. Really good signing.
We should've been in for him, but hopefully we've got better and bigger plans. I doubt it, though.

Your Dad's wrong. Gylfi might edge the set pieces but Eriksen's a different class in open play.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Dani Garcia? No.
Roque Mesa? Yes, but he's not coming here.
Truthfully, though, we need to be targeting younger players than this. Someone like Vincent Koziello.
Why the ffukk are we not doing that? Oh right, Jenkins.
We paid £15million for a top quality Spanish youngster last summer. One that people on here were suggesting we signed for a while. Turns out he's a bit shit

Borja isn't sshitt, no matter how bad his season has been. But top quality? FFUKK NO.
Would I have signed him last summer? No, I wouldn't have.
And Koziello is a French youngster, so not sure how that relates.

Would Koziello be interested?? I'm not sure he would be to be honest. Not this season anyway. He'll stay at Nice for another couple of seasons while they're building something good with their young players, and then most likely have the pick of some top clubs when he does decide to move.

Point being it's very easy to throw names of youngsters across Europe about, but it's one thing getting them here in the first place and another thing whether they're actually up to the standard we need. I'm sure clement and his team will know about any players who are good enough so it's pointless just throwing names out there

Not if Favre moves on, which is likely.
And he was frustrated this past season with his playing time anyway, and Nice will always be a selling club, especially with their young players.
Given our status as a mostly midtable PL club for nearly a decade now, we should be able to get our foot in the door with guys of Koziello's caliber. It's that simple. Every other club is doing it, while we focus on old, reject bin classics for the most part.
That needs to change. This would be a start.

Didn't work with Tabanou though, did it. Be honest, are you VK's agent? Cousin?

Yeah I'd take Roque Mesa too, but can't see him coming here. Quick check shows he's got 3 yrs left on contract and I can't see that sellout w$nker paying the sort of money needed to lure him here....

Correct, Jango.
Except that isn't what I'm doing.
I'm not "throwing names" at all. I have said Koziello, and him only, for weeks now. He'd be the perfect fit for us and vice versa. Watch the videos I've posted and tell me otherwise, if you'd like to chat about this.
And honestly, I'd simply take one of those stupid sites linking us to him at this point. That would mean we're looking at the right people.
As I've said before, I trust Clement and his staff. But I don't trust Jenkins and his reject bin policy, and this is a forum for Swansea.
Would you like to discuss knitting or 17th century aristocracy instead?
