You're absolutely right. Those days are long gone.
Would be a good pick for a short term contract. Knows the league plenty of contacts. To go for a novice like Giggs would be the final nail. Then go for a young hungry manager to evolve the club next season.
Signing Redknapp makes a lot of sense ... strictly for short term.
It was written in the stars... kind of reminds me of signing Smith & Callaghan.
Harry comes in until the end of the season.
Brings John Terry with him to give us back that leadership we lost when Ash left.
Brings Lampard, who starts and ends his career with us by saving us from relegation.
Both of the above to sign for a reduced wage but a substantial bonus for avoiding relegation.
Harry leaves at the end of the season with his reputation restored and a £1 million bonus Which makes a change from contract payups.
If we go down, Harry and the new players receive no bonuses.
Then next season we move in for a better choice of manager, going into the pre-season.
If we're looking at Coleman, then I think it's too early to take him now. His work at Wales should run until our latest qualifying campaign is finalised.
For me, staying up this season at all costs is vital. A lot of the existing players do not have relegation/wage reduction clauses in their contracts.
We need to apply relegation clauses to all new players to ensure we are better equipped for relegation.
Let it happen!
It's just the internet, init.

I have to ask, how do you know some players do not have relegation clauses in their contracts?
The mis management has been so bad it wouldn't surprise me but surely having them in their fanancially ruins the swans and busts us.
Doesn't the trust know what the contract situation us with players?
Please tell me this isn't fact,if it is we are truly fooked .

I read it on here about a month ago. On a thread of its own. It wad stated that there were no relegation clauses. I'm pretty sure that Phil S joined in that thread. I'll try and find it.

Feck me this is a worrying post. If it is true that players don't have relegation clauses then that could really screw us over if they don't move on if we are relegated. Jimmy Bullard and hull springs to mind.

If you've read it I believe you.
The worry is that no way the swans could cover the existing wages if relegated.
Hopefully it's just one or two players like gylfi and fab but that will create the problem of us needing them out and that in turn will lower their transfer value .
It's a scary thought that the swans have gambled in this way, though it does explain why the sellouts were desperate to take the money and run like fook !

While I don't like the baggage that comes with harry and his dog, the prospect of finally having somebody with contacts out weighs that.
One thing I'll also say is that harry has always said good things about the swans and how we try (used to) to play the game , I think they are his type of players too and will respond to his more human approach . If he is making a noise about the job safe bet he thinks he can do it . A quick look at the likes of borja, llorente, siggy, fab and montero will give him plenty to work with. Fanciful thought but John Terry thrown in as a leader could be the difference , past his best for Chelsea but will have enough in the tank for us .
It's looking like the most sensible option to me, therefore it will probably never happen !

Arry would only be a good appointment if he could get Terry and Lampard, Arry without Terry and Lampard no, Arry with Terry and Lampard yes. I would expect the Swans to stay up with Terry and Lampard were playing even taking their age into consideration.
Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Lampard is 38!!! Why the hell would we want him? If our midfield is that bad that a 38 chubber is an improvement then we are doomed
