Bradley Sacking Odds on 15:36 - Nov 9 by monmouth | I think Bluey's right, I hope he isn't. I simply don't see a way out of this that doesn't involve a total miracle. |
There is a fairly easy way out of it. We bring in a manager used to relegation battles. We give him a couple of quid to sign a midfield dog, a goal poacher and a leader at the back. Allardyce is the obvious one, there are others, I'd happily look at someone like Curbishley on a short term firefighting contract with a juicy survival bonus. We won't though, these arrogant clowns will try to blag it with Bob.

curbishley? absolutely not. allardyce yes. I know, what about Guidolin. he did such a fine job last season... Not since Jackett 10 years ago have we got a manager who simply has to go.

I'd take anyone who knows what he is doing to be honest. Curbishley was just an example, but I would absolutely swap him for Bob. I'd be delighted with Guidolin. Many wouldn't due to our start, which is understandable and I think Lord Lucan would have slightly lower odds anyway. I'd disagree with your last sentence. Monk was about 3 games past untenable when he went.

This seems like the most realistic scenario, get Curt to pull off a minor miracle, then sign up someone permanent in the summer, but I don't think it'll happen.

We tried that last season and gave Curt the job until the end of the season. Less than three weeks later Guidolin was parachuted in out of a clear blue sky. There was good reason for that.

Bradley Sacking Odds on 17:32 - Nov 9 with 2239 views | KGriz16 | i would happily lose premiership status if it meant going back to playing attractive football. i don't want Allardyce or Curbishly near my club. The players we have are not good enough, nor is the manager. The sooner players are bought and a decent manager is brought in the better.

Curbishley I can't mock as I said after Bob being appointed that he was a good coach, but Curbishley!

Just shows how far we have dropped. He is light years ahead of Bob. I honestly think we only need someone with a bit of PL nous to keep us up. Realistically, who would you want?

Realistically? Allderdyce. I'm not quite sure why people are wanting De Boer. We need someone familiar with and successful in relegation battles in the Premier League.

I'd agree with that. That's why I mentioned Curbishley rather than the likes of DeBoer, Marcelino, Clement etc. I think someone like that would be better suited for our current predicament. Embarrassing as it is to admit, Warnock would fall into that category now. We need a manager for the next 6 months, not the next 6 years.

Warnock is a proven premier league failure. I'd have him over Bobbley.

There's enough time for a good manager to turn it around if appointed NOW. We could do with at least three quality players in January but if we play like we did against Citeh and Liverpool we'd scrape through regardless. I'd take any of Allardyce & Co. over Clueless Bob Badly if it came to it though. Any serious contender would want a guarantee of a January war chest so we're probably stuck with Yankee Doodle Bradley's tragi-comic floundering.

I agree with this. If we'd actually looked to upgrade rather than go for the bottom of the barrel to replace FG, the outlook would look much rosier even with our obvious weaknesses. As it is we have wasted time, games and f*cked the players up further.
