There's not a ched is guilty brigade? So there's not about 15 people on this thread up in arms about the verdict? You included. At the end of the day a 12-0 verdict proves you wrong, deal with it. The girl had form for doing what she done that night and it caught up with her, rightfully so.

It doesn't matter if she "had form" or not. If she didn't consent on that occasion it is still rape.

A prostitute can be raped. A wife can consent to sex with her husband every night for 20 years and still be raped on the occasion that she doesn't.

Yes , read what was actually used in court you'll be amazed by the extraordinary circumstances that got him cleared

I wouldn't. He was acquitted because the judge allowed evidence of the girl's previous sexual behaviour to be used as evidence. In essence the verdict was "not gulty because the girl seems to be a bit of a slapper so she can't possibly have not consented on this occasion".

I understand that but again, if someone falsely accused me of that (not saying she did) I personally wouldn't care less what happened to her. I realise that may not be a popular opinion

I understand the view. It's exactly why such laws are in place.

I don't think it was?

My reading of it (admittedly just the wales online updates and a guardian article) Evans said that she was fully participating and said "f*ck me harder".

The two ex partners both gave evidence that she had made identical in one case and similar in the other, comments to them within a short period of time

Well judging by her track record which was used in court as vital evidence it speaks volumes about her,in fact i'm sure that's why his first guilty verdict was quashed because of this new evidence

Or Maybe because of women like this who make real victims feel like it's their own fault

Don't know why that was down arrowed as it could be true. Equally, a miscarriage of justice could have taken place here. NOBODY HERE KNOWS, so it's no good people getting on their moral high horses.

Shows the difficulties involved in these sorts of cases. Without direct evidence it comes down to supposition and a character dissection.

Yuk indeed.

Please show me where Im up in arms about anything.

I've always stuck to the belief that if a jury finds him guilty he's guilty and if they don't he's not, including on appeal. I've never said any different as I trust the system to do it's work and never never said otherwise, unlike those that think Ched's sh!t don't stink because he's a footballer. The fact that she may or may not be promiscuous is of no relevance.

Chedwyn Evans not guilty.. on 20:00 - Oct 14 with 1256 viewsexiledclaseboy

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/oct/14/footballer-ched-evans-cleared-o

The appeal was allowed after judges gave the go-ahead for two former sexual partners of the complainant to give explicit evidence in court about her sex life, a rare move that has been widely condemned by women’s support groups and campaigners.

One group, Women Against Rape (WAR), told the Guardian the decision “drove a coach and horses” through legislation designed to protect victims and could stop other abused women coming forward for fear they would be quizzed about their sex lives.

It can now be revealed that:

During the appeal case that led to the retrial, lawyers for the crown suggested the two new witnesses may have been “fed” information by those close to Evans. This claim was rejected by Evans’s side.

Evans’s fiancee, Massey, was accused in legal argument during the second trial of offering an “inducement” to a key witness. The prosecution said this had “the flavour of a bribe”. The trial judge disagreed with this description. A spokesman for Evans and Massey said: “The judge was very clear. No further comments will be made.”

The appeal court judges, whose decision can be reported for the first time, expressed “a considerable degree of hesitation” before allowing in the new evidence of the former partners because it resulted in the complainant’s sexual behaviour being subject to forensic scrutiny — which is almost always banned.

The complainant continues to be named and abused on social media though the law gives her lifelong anonymity. The police are investigating one blog that identified her during the trial.

Like I said, an extremely sympathetic judge.

As one of the raper apologists on this thread has clearly stated - "her past behaviour has caught up with her". He has clearly been acquitted on predudicial attitudes that a sexually liberal young woman deserved it and/or is being punished for previous sins.

Yes, I've seen that.

Do you think it's not possible for a woman to be raped if she's a bit of a slag. Just wondering.

Absolutely incredible how much abuse he is continuing to get on this site, after being found not guilty. Before the 'rape' apologist comments come to the fore, this is nonsense. Rape is disgusting, obviously, shouldn't even need to clarify that, but based on what I have read it sounds like I do.

I'm confused as to how the guilty verdict gives everyone cart blanche to essentially destroy this man's life, but a non guilty verdict seems to mean absolutely nothing. None of us were there, none of us have any idea what truly happened. It's the courts' job to determine guilt, and they have decided there isn't any. He should be allowed to carry on his life as per prior to this case, and should absolutely be called up to Wales' squad if he earns, I find in honestly frightening that anyone would say otherwise.

The reality is we should not be debating the legal aspect of this. The moral part yes, but not the legal element because it's case closed. There is apparently no crime, but there is still a victim in all this, I think it's healthy to debate that and people rightly have passionate feelings on it.

Because some very proud posters on here called people rape-apologists etc for calmly wondering how guilt could be proved beyond reasonable doubt and due to today's decision they look rather pathetic, embarrassed figures and are angry at this.

The orthodox are always orthodox, regardless of the orthodoxy.

So you believe in the system and that not guilty means not guilty but then accuse the judge of being extremely sympathetic.

And I am in no way a rapist apologist, no rape took place. Not guilty means not guilty right?

And yes her past behaviour has caught up with her, that's exactly the reason why this case was taken to a retrial and eventually ruled against her. It's that simple

She had sex with one guy, 2 days later she slept with 2 footballers and then, she was so traumatised by those events that she slept with a guy 2 weeks later whilst in a similar drunken state as the night in question. There's no wonder the jury came to the conclusion they did.
