Based on what we know, do you think the proposed deal is a good thing? on 08:23 - Apr 12 by 3swan
"The question is.......do we roll the dice or sit tight."
If the investors want to buy and the required amount of shares are made available then unless anything major comes into the public domain, that will make the selling shareholders think again, then I can only see one outcome
The issue is what can we fans really do about it? If current shareholders want to sell how do we stop them? Yes we can protest but would that bother Katzen? ( I assume he is one of those looking to offload) People are assuming HJ is selling his shares too but has this been confirmed? It is a shame that perhaps one of these shareholder hadnt offered their shares tp the trust but then they would know a) it makes it harder for future exit plans b) there is no means of bring in additional revenue.
We need all the facts which as yet have not been divulged.....or at least not to us fans. There is another way of looking at this. Whilst the Americans get a controlling interest between them MM and the trust between them have a "major" interest and can impact on decision making. The problem I see it is that current shareholders ( some if not all) were going to jump ship at some point and "cash in".
I am not saying I agree with this situation but what are the details? Is HJ selling out? Has HJ kept MM at arms lenght to ensure his shares dont get sold as part of his fire sale to fund his much talked about alleged divorce?
Unfortuneatly the status quo will not remain lets just hope HJ remembers what this City did to Petty .....because in most fans eyes Hj will be to blame if and when it goes t**s up and will be looking to run him out of town.

Last night's further trust statement shows that all shareholders are selling most of their shares and are passing voting rights for those shares that they retain to the Americans so that they have 75.1% and can do pretty much whatever they want.
There's only 3.8% unaccounted for when you add the Trust's 21.1% to the agreed 75.1%.

Understanding is that existing shareholders would retain a small part, however all this is under negotiation. To be honest, 75% or 79% makes little odds.
