The General Election Results/Aftermath Thread. on 15:55 - May 14 by trampie | Nice to see thank you stickers stuck on Plaid billboards after the election [in an area they won in], also heard Plaid turned up in one market town after the election to give Welsh cakes out as a thank you to voters [in an area they failed to win in]. Nice touch by Plaid, classy. [Post edited 15 May 2015 9:31]

They've been embarrassed by the SNP but it's all okay because they gave out some Welsh cakes

Hardly they taught the SNP all they know and they don't compete against the SNP.

The General Election Results/Aftermath Thread. on 09:29 - May 15 with 2203 views | trampie | Paid have taken over 2 councils in 2 days, apparently Plaid were the biggest group in Carmarthenshire but Labour was in coalition with independents, reports suggest Labour have imploded and the independents have now sided with the biggest group which is Plaid. In Gwynedd 3 councillors from another party have defected to Plaid giving Plaid a majority. Apparently Leanne Wood was said to be a factor for them switching over to Plaid.

What have Plaid taught the SNP? How to perennially underachieve? How to be an ineffective junior coalition partner and how to make that your biggest achievement since devolution? How to use almost blanket national media coverage to do nothing of any significance to your share of the vote? How to finish fourth in the popular vote? How to make welshcakes?

The General Election Results/Aftermath Thread. on 23:03 - May 7 by Lord_Bony | Ok I'm calling it. Cameron will remain in power tomorrow. SNP will become very powerful in Scotland. UKIP to become the party of third choice for UK voters, replacing the Lib Dems. |
Great call even if I say so myself...before any of the results came in .

AS: Dafydd, could you teach me about campaigning so that the SNP can become the dominant party in Scotland? DW: Of course Alex. Have a look at what Plaid Cymru are doing in Wales, study it closely and then you will know exactly what not to do. AS: Thanks Dafydd, hopefully Plaid Cymru will be able to set up a heavily subsidised air route between Cardiff and Anglesey with zero business case and as many passengers one day that will be the pinnacle of your achievements in Wales while the SNP actually governs and even has a referendum on independence.

Luz Saville Roberts is a new Plaid MP, she is Plaids first female MP, Ms Wood is doing just fine as leader so far.

She has acheived what you said was the impossible, Tramp, steered I'r Blaid into a subordinate place in Welsh national sentience to Farage's travelling circus. That takes some doing but she somehow pulled it off. No mean feat.

Mhairi Black of the SNP is the youngest MP for many years, I wonder if many remember the previous youngest one for many years Bernadette Devlin, Irish, socialist, republican, apparently she was excluded from university for being prominent in a 'civil rights' movement, the state apparently jailed her for incitement to riot as a young woman, she took her seat others of a similar mind from Ireland don't, a speaker from the Wirral with a Welsh name would not let her speak on a matter that she was a witness to, she did not seem to like that, it being Parliamentary convention that members witnessing an incident get to speak, she allegedly hit the Home Secretary when he said the Para's acted in self defence on Bloody Sunday. She was then years later apparently shot 7 times in front of her children by loyalist paramilitaries, it was claimed Para's just watched and did nothing waiting for her and her husband to die, another Army unit turned up and then they got medical help and survived. Apparently her daughter has fought off extradition attempts by the Germans, quite a colourful history Mrs McAliskey has, I trust Ms Black will have a far less colourful time of it all.
