Isn't his proposal to restrict foreign player influx into the Premier League to make it easier for English youngsters to make the grade at odds with the Bosman Ruling of freedom of movement in football?

Also, isn't he overlooking the main point that, if English youngsters were good enough & better than their foreign counterparts, they'd make the grade irrespective of the level of foreign player influx?

I thought playing and training with the very best players in the world on a daily basis was going to propel England to glory ? Anyhow its the foreign players that generate the interest and the global revenue. Not sure that the three lions of Andy Carroll, welbeck, and Lambert will really sell the premiership brand globally.

Forget England, we need to get Welsh youngsters playing football, not hoof ball, we should follow our own path and not blindly follow age grade football in England.

England are not designed to play a pretty game, generalising its not in their mentality, let them stick to what they are good at, work rate, never giving in, physicality, fitness etc but Wales is different matter we should express ourselves and play heads up footie.

Wales should introduce summer football for the kids, even play games on school yard concrete, goalies rolling the ball out, kids encouraged to use both feet, pass and move, little triangles, strikers passing the ball into the side netting and when they get a bit older they could learn to head, tackle and dribble.

The English can play in the winter on muddy pitches were the best players are the ones that can head and kick the ball the furthest and are the most physical.

The English can play kick and rush long ball football, defenders kicking the ball into the crowd, forwards getting long balls directed at them all the time, midfielders running around like headless chickens and of course no wingers.

Wales needs a programme for young footballers that is different to our rivals and suits our style as a nation, its one thing copying a successful model but its not so wise copying a model that is not so successful.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

I agree. The best teams in the world keep the ball and play to feet. Like our swans.

The rules don't go far enough. The home grown rule is b*llocks. At a club from 15 years old... what a load of sh*t

I love the way Kane is now a world beater that will save them. This over exaggeration of what is only first season promise (see Barkley R) and cult of 'superstar' is ridiculous too.

When I used to listen to talk sport (I've long since seen the light) it was only jack wilshire being injured that stopped England winning everything in sight
