I don't. Man Utd will be televised and rightly so. If we were in Cambridge's shoes I reckon we'd be agog if it wasn't. Arsenal v Brighton will be because, well, it's Arsenal. Brum v Brom is a mix-league derby, so that should be shown. Then there's Chelsea/City etc who'll probably be seen as more suitable than Stoke against a League One side. Personally, I think that's wrong, but we're talking about corporations who thought Arsenal v Hull was TV-worthy! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

FA cup televised game 4th round on 21:32 - Jan 5 with 5718 views | dingdangblue | Don't know if it means anything, but on BBC text we are the 2nd story after they mention Cambridge v Man Utd. Think we have a great chance of TV game as it is a possible SHOCK. Liverpool v Bolton could be another which hasn't been mentioned - although will they show the same teams again as the 3rd round? Let's hope they don't.

When they look for a shock game though they normally look for the underdog to be the home team. Our game stands out i reckon, having already knocked out a team from a higher league.

At the end of the BBC game tonight Lineker quickly ran through the draw and briefly mentionedva few stand out ties - Dale v Stoke was one.

United / City and Ars all highly likely. Liverpool v Bolton has FA cup history too ( Bolton won 2-0 in the 90's at Anfield ) regretfully i think Lineker was taking the p*ss and we are well down the pecking order.

The games that you have listed though look well down the pecking order when it comes to providing a cup shock. Chelsea v Milwall will be a walkover and a one sided affair. If a neutral looked at the draw and had to pick one match which could cause a real upset I think our game would be the one, an unfashionable club at home to a Premiership team. Anyway, we will find out soon enough.

Re Liverpool and Bolton in the 1990s. Was that the League Cup?

They played in the League Cup Final once, but Bolton won at Anfield in the FA Cup in January 1993 after a draw at Burnden Park. Bolton had beaten Dale in round two to earn the Liverpool tie.

I don't think Lineker was doing anything of the sort. Over the weekend the BBC have repeatedly talked up our win over Forest, as well as Preston's and Sheffield United's wins, so it was only natural he would comment on us being drawn at home to a Premier League side.

FA cup televised game 4th round on 10:41 - Jan 6 with 4751 views | OxDale | Not sure why everybody is getting excited about a TV game (or not). It only means the kick off will moved away from 3 o'clock on a Saturday and therefore spoiling the occasion. I appreciate there is money involved, but from a fans perspective, in particular an exile and there are plenty of those, a TV game is bad news.
FA cup televised game 4th round on 10:53 - Jan 6 with 4704 views | batfink | How can a guaranteed £144,000 for the dale if the game is televised be bad news? I really hope we are chosen for the tv, that will make the run so far worth over £250,000 in payments from the FA, not including any of the share of gate receipts. [Post edited 6 Jan 2015 11:00]

FA cup televised game 4th round on 11:13 - Jan 6 with 4659 views | fitzochris | I see both sides of the argument. TV cash and exposure for the club is vital. However, as someone who has to make a 440-mile round trip to attend the game, the potential of an awkward TV kick-off spot does throw a spanner in the works. Ideally, even if selected for TV, it would be Saturday evening or, at worst, Sunday lunchtime. A Friday, Monday or Tuesday night game does little favours for anyone wanting to attend the game - especially away fans.

Called the FA and they have had an e-mail telling them that the announcement should be sooner rather than later, so we hopefully won't have to wait until Friday
