REDBIRDS DEBT ? 19:22 - Nov 6 with 7069 viewspikeypaul

The REDBIRDS debt stood at £118 million when the accounts were released last January 10th.

What is your guess it will stand at this year bearing in mind it is up to May 31st 2014

I will take a stab at £138million.

Also FFP may well kick in to them soon with a transfer embargo on the horizon.

I read a paragraph by Keith Morgan who is an accountant and on the Cardiff trust board that this years figures are only expected to have a loss of around 5 million I am not sure how accurate this is but it will make them OK for ffp at least for next year.

Keith Morgan (Since62) has been predicting their return to financial stability and good health for at least ten years. If he's right it'll be the first time.

What with Malkie busting the £25M transfer budget, plus the cost of the new stand £5m rather optimistic.

Apparently they were expecting a £12m profit based on finishing 17th.

Don't worry two hoots about them Tan has money tucked away that could meet their debt without ruffling the waters of his financial empire, don't forget that he has survived and flourished in the cess pits of Asian big business for years, a man not to be messed with.

?? Odd post. The debt it owed TO him. He's not leaving there without his return and he'll certainly not be writing off his debt without milking every penny from their assets and 'their' stadium.

But you are right, I don't worry two hoots about them.

Not yet.
Every time it's supposed to happen, Tan the Jack gives an excuse.
Last time was the legal situation with Milky. before that, Scam the man, Before that, it was a bit windy with rain and that's not lucky in Malaysia

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

He already owns 90%+ of the club.

Debt to equity is a myth in Cardiff's case. Any such thing would basically be a straight writing off of the debt.

Good luck with that happening...........

How much debt would the last 10% of the club be worth? It all seems to be drops in the ocean at the minute.

Its just like it was before. Prem or bust. Ah the good old times.

Tan is owed £66 million of last years £118 million debt and wants it back with interest
Or the redbird scum go to the wall

Tomdickharry , You obviously do not understand the situation

When reality sets in and the s@&£ finally hits the fan VT will get every penny out of the club he can selling everything he can just to recoup a percentage the club owes him.
He won't take the financial lose lightly and I imagine he could be real vindictive fecker and
Punish the scummy club big time since everything is in his hands the 'fans' have no say with him in total control.if he says blue shirts in the bin your wearing red from now on that's the way it is,if he says my boys mate is taking over scouting that's the way it is,if he says jump the whole scum club and it's fans jump that's the way it is,if he say hey w@nker wave the Malaysian flag a w@nker waves the Malaysian flag that's the way it is.

Failure to get promotion this year would be a big loss financially to them but I think with Tan and as mad or bad as he is, I think he'll stick around and try and get what he's always wanted, a team in Red established in the Premier League.Whether that happens at all is anyone's guess but I get the feeling he'll stick around for a while yet and keep trying til he gets what he wants.

They say they "only" lost £5m last year, but that is with amortised transfer fees meaning they pay the fee over the length of the players contracts so would only declare say 25% of those purchases in that years accounts.

Id imagine the impact of their disaster year will be seen more this year where they don't have the Sky money to subsidise their reckless maiden year. At least in terms of the accounts.

I don't think he does NJ. I think he is owed slightly over half the debt but I'm sure I saw figures where 66 million was owed to someone else. Do you reckon that's the Langstone debt and a case of handing the club over to Sam Hamman if he decides to go?
Perhaps he's keeping them going for Sam to raise the money owed to himself and once done it's bye bye Cardiff. Bit unless Sam has found another investor he won't take the club anywhere, he's no "billionaire". Time to act like a responsible football club eh? Spend what you earn.

Agree Bryn, 'If you ain't got it, don't spend it'. Football authorities need to make a stand on this, and should've done so years ago. We've been ahead of the game in this respect, and reaped the rewards - deservedly so too.

He bought Sam Hammam......sorry "Langstone" off earlier this year. As far as I'm aware there is little or no debt owed to anyone other than Tan himself now.

Feck me i'm amazed about the accountants on here. Where were you ten years ago? Surely you could have stopped the disgrace of asking your rivals for a hand out?

As you are the voice of reason I am surprised that you have missed the obvious point that even the best accountant on the planet does not advise everyone... particularly Mr V Tan.
