Fleetwood or Burton? 11:37 - May 26 with 4800 views | ColDale | Prefer a Burton win. Theyve got the better manager but you never know what funds Fleetwood will have to spend over the Summer should they get promoted. Definitely think we've got a better chance of finishing above Burton next season.

Fleetwood or Burton? on 12:08 - May 26 with 3931 views | DomDale | Burton. Don't We like clubs who do it the right way and don't spend silly money like Fleetwood do. I've still never been to Burton and I think we'll finish above them next season. Either way we're going to make naff all out of the home fixtures with a taxi load of away fans 😩

Ditto. Surely 1 out of 3 isn't too much to ask for. Burton please.

Burton for me as fleetwood as supposedly after john joe otoole. Can't see him going there if they are still league 2!!!

One of the lowest, if not the lowest, L2final play-off crowd. Six years ago, Dale vs Stockport 35,000+ I think.
Fleetwood or Burton? on 11:05 - May 27 with 2522 views | ParkinsGimp | Think Burton players let themselves down, so glad we not got that Edwards , he is a buffoon LOL Holness did his best, but McGurk and Ismail were poor. Didnt want Fleetwood same reason DomDale said...they just being bank rolled , and by who?

Dale took more supporters than that entire attendance.

Dont talk about crowds you'll get the infestation of (league 2)bury fans telling us how massive they are again and how jealous we are of them
Fleetwood or Burton? on 12:27 - May 27 with 2399 views | D_Alien | My own view is that we can't be too precious about the attendance figures for other clubs. Yes, we took around 18000 to Wembley in 2008 - but how many would we have taken if we'd been in the playoff final this year? I think we'd have struggled to reach the 10000 mark, which is still higher than Fleetwood/Burton took but with much smaller populations, and much shorter histories in the football league. I don't like the idea of heavily bankrolled lower league clubs any more than anyone else, but their future prospects of survival hang by a thread - that of the beneficience of one individual. No thanks, but lets not knock smaller fish from rising through the leagues - its the dream of every football fan in the pyramid below the championship.

It wasn't a comment designed to 'gloat' at the Burton/Fleetwood attendance - just a simple observation. As D_Alien mentions elsewhere, I doubt very much if Dale fans would ever attend Wembley again in such numbers - barring a major Cup Final. The novelty of the first ever Dale appearance has gone, which undoubtedly accounted for a proportion of the attendance that day (from both clubs). There are people I know who went to Wembley that day and have never watched a Dale game since. No doubt there was also an element of that 'novelty visit' amongst Burton and Fleetwood fans. It will always be the same for lower league clubs. What matters now is whether the owner of Fleetwood is prepared to continue to personally bankroll the club to the required degree to allow them to continue to climb the league ladder. He will need very deep pockets from now onwards. If he ever decides he has had enough, there will be some serious problems for them to deal with. [Post edited 27 May 2014 12:45]
