That stems from the text Moody sent - Moody claimed he got the team from Gunnarsson. Player and agent have both denied it.

That was from the text mistakenly sent to Freedman; it's also alleged that one of our members of staff, now fired, was approached by Moody, refused to give him the team. In a later convo between the two, it's claimed that Moody stated he'd "got the team from another source as he was under pressure from Pulis".

I don't think aybody seriously believes points would be docked, match replayed especially after the lack of meaningful action re: Tevez, but it seems at face value there's a case to answer. If proven, there's also a case that those in the media who pilloried Tan for firing Moody might be eating a portion of humble pie.

Pure fantasy! There is no case. Players talk... Staff talk... in fact as Danny Murphy stated on talksport earlier, "... it's quite common for sides to know their opposition before match day."

If there's no case, since it's common, then why did Moody and Pulis both claim it never happened - a claim undermined by the text sent?

Firstly, who was the text sent too, haven't heard anything official that it went direct to Moody.

Secondly, even if they did recieve it, it's nothing unusual, but of course their not going to shout it about town! If you think the FA are gonna look anymore into this (without Tan givijg them a handout!), then you are deluded!

This article from The Secret Footballer put it pretty well, in that the Crystal Palace teamsheet would have been even easier to know beforehand... "Why? Because they had beaten Chelsea 1-0 in their previous match. And sure enough, when the teams were announced, the line-up was exactly the same."

The text was sent by Moody to Dougie Freedman, listing our lineup.

Obviously a mistake, as Freedman contacted Ole about it.

Fa would look into it, sure. Replay, points deductions not going to happen. Palarse could be fined though.

Annd... Secret Footballer unsurprisingly misses the point.

Of course Ole would have had a good idea of the Palarse lineup.
Given Ole changing quite regularly both lineups and formations, stating Palarse would have known precisely our lineup and more importantly how we'd play against them is a reach...

Pulis may well have been confident in on formation, one lineup. Good for him. It's still an advantage when you know how the opposition are going to counter that, especially when the opposition as a result find out about the leak and have to change from a formation worked on all week at the last moment.

I suppose an obligatory fine may occur, but as we all know, if you're not a big club, you get sweet fa!

Well, Sunderland fielded an ineligible player, that was kept secret with a fine given. Played five games, granted they got a single point...

Hereford in I believe 2011(?) played an ineligible player for one game. Three point deduction.

That said, in this case can't see anything other than a fine happening. Moody would be fired again, damaging Mackay's court case in the process as collatteral damage. Pulis would escape fine.

Where it would become hairy would be if any FA investigation found Palarse did maliciously break the rules and spirit, give them no punishment or a piddling fine and we got relegated in a scenario where points from that game could have been relevant. I'd not be surprised to see Tan take it to court in that instance.

You are an intelligent bloke, just take a step back a second. Now listen. What's that sound? Oh yes, it's everyone including the FA laughing their tits off at your club.

Just out of interest, which is worse in your view. Knowing which team your opponents will play or offering illegal bonuses? Also, hasn't Stan said since that Whittingham, Daehli and some other hopeless dingbat whose name escapes me, will play every game from now on...because they are going to rely on Whittingham's dead balls..... I'm sure that'll play well when they try and play the secret team and tactic card with the FA.

The illegal bonus offer was withdrawn as soon as it was pointed out it was illegal. No payment was made... no harm no foul.

If Ole chooses to say players will start, that's up to him... if he willingly offers that info, that's his call. Maybe he's playing mind games. Who knows?

The fact Moody and Pulis had to pull this stunt given we've been sh1te most of the season indicates stupidity on their part, tbh...

Good response.

Really though, if you saw this from any other club what would your response have been? laughter at the desperation? It's pretty pathetic, and not (just) because it's cardiff.

My view would be the same, tbh. Not sure precisely what rule was broken, but it's clear from the alleged timeline Moody was trying to induce information from a CCFC employee at the time which would benefit Palarse. When that failed, he went down other routes to get that information, allegedly claiming it was under pressure from Pulis, only getting discovered due to making a mistake when sending a text.

Take Cardiff, Palarse out of the equation, I'd think it was incredibly shady activity on many levels and needs to be investigated.

The text that Moody accidentally sent to Freedman - in that text, he threw Aron Gunnarsson under the bus by citing him as the source of the information. Due to it being uncovered, he's either killed Gunnarsson's career with us if he did leak the information or imo worse, if he used Gunner's name as a made up source to bolster the credibility of the claimed lineup, he's unfairly caused him a load of sh1te.

Moody used to be a journo and agent, so don't expect anything other than the media to take his side tbh, but maybe, just maybe Tan was right to fire him.

It does seem very desperate and had Cardiff won would this ever had come to light - I doubt it. However I think it is more to do with the off field goings on with the Moody / Malky case than Cardiff getting 3 points from the game, they were well beaten case closed.

However now that Cardiff have taken this step and say they have strong evidence the Premier league I feel will need to take some form of action and could potentially come down heavy of Palace.

The reason being, these are 2 small nothing clubs in premier league terms, yet its something that needs to be handled very carefully by the FA/PL, if they do nothing it leaves the doors open to other bigger clubs and sends the message that no matter what the rules are the FA will not enforce them, Chelsea get Liverpools starting line up tactics and formation a couple of days before the game through illegal means (Brown envelope Payment etc) and Liverpool lose and dont win the title, what action could the FA take? The precedent has been set, fines unless very large are pretty ineffective for big clubs, the only way to really hurt clubs is through points deduction.

Just my 2 pennies, this probs goes on quite often and goes unreported, but now the FA are aware you may be suprised of the hardline they take.

Tan Just wants Headlines.
Good or bad he doesn't really care.
He just wants His Name and His Club in the news as often as possible.

At the End of the day, if Palace were given material of an un-sportsman nature that could possibly breach FA rules then they as a club governed by the FA have morale obligation to notify the FA.
As for My lads, They seem to be more concerned by the fact Other teams may be receiving information on the club rather than actually worrying as to how these teams are getting this info, sordid or not.

It stinks of another Giant by my club and it's owner.

The only thing that's making it interesting is if it is all poppycock and sour grapes and there was no actual wrong doing then why haven't the FA dismissed this rather quickly?

Either way, whether it's gets blown up or swept under its only a matter if time before Tan is in the headlines again.

As many ex pro's have stated, most managers know exactly how the other team will 99% turn up for the game. Line ups will be close to the mark, and a team isn't gonna chage the way it plays after 32 games in a season, so the way Cardiff were going to set up was hardly rocket science. This sort of stuff happens every week up and down football across the world. Magath has already said they do it

Just a quick question.
Did our comedy cousins field their strongest team against Palace?

If they didn't then can't they get a points deduction for fielding a weak team against a side they knew they couldn't beat?

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.
