I think Mark Hughes must have hacked his account.

Nobody, you just sounded surprised. Most people take that sort of Top 7 bias thing as par for the course these days especially where a club like our is involved and therefore don't mention it. Maybe not surprised but I got the impression you thought it was unusual, that's all.

The official Everton V Swansea City matchday thread on 17:53 - Mar 22 with 1803 views | coolair | There has been done 2 big mistakes by the board this year. Not to buy the player Laudrup wanted before the season and again during the last window. The second was to let Laudrup go in february when the team was 12th, in the FA and Euro league and letting a virgin manager take over. Monk is no manager, he is no trainer he was not even a player and now the hole club is is problems. Relegations is getting closer and closer and and WBA and Sunderland win while we loose and we are under the line. To bad because then we will loose all the good players we have. and reentering the PL will be even harder.

Yes. IF we stay up it will be because other teams have failed, not that we have succeeded. Our defence has gone to pot this season and today we failed to beat an Everton team which was there for the taking by a well organised, tactically efficient Swansea team. Which we were not.

"we failed to beat an Everton team which was there for the taking", that is the same Everton that was in 6th place before we played them, only 8 places above us. However we still outplayed them for most of the game, 59% possession, 21 shots to their 9, 12 corners to their 5. There was 1 goal difference, a nice Penalty.
The official Everton V Swansea City matchday thread on 18:09 - Mar 22 with 1682 views | C_jack | I think Sunderland are on the verge of a grim fixture run, and we've got them in the last game, so at least we'll be likely to have it in our hands if it's going to the wire.. small advantages are key. The official Everton V Swansea City matchday thread on 16:46 - Mar 22 by Giant_Penguins | 8 games without a win (in all comp.) 1 win for monk since taking over (not that I thought today would've be a win). Perhaps we can get something from the Arsenal game after their battering today |
Or receive a backlash from Arsenal and lose yet again, which is the more likely outcome.

Ofcourse losing to arsenal is the most likely option. Our fate will now be decided by home games with narch, Villa and Soton and away games at Sundy, Nooc, and Hull. Same thing aplies as with Palarse and Wubba. If we can't get the points from those, we deserve to fail, as we have a better team than each of those clubs including Soton. Got to stop defending like clwyd juniors mind.

Two wins, three draws should be more than enough looking at the run in others have. Saturday is f*cking massive now.

The official Everton V Swansea City matchday thread on 17:12 - Mar 22 by exiledclaseboy | Positives - We played well, were the better team on the day, created loads of chances, scored two good goals and other results went more or less completely the way we'd have wanted them to. And PS seems to be on super slo-mo. Shelvey, Bony, Routledge. Negatives - Our defence has taken collective leave of its senses and we didn't score from most of the oodles of chances we created. Canas, Chico, Williams, Davies, Rangel. Playing well and losing is fine in October, it ain't going to cut it in March. |
You forgot to include Leon in that defensive suicide pact but aye, spot on. Our attacking players deserve better than what's happening behind them, although they're also guilty of spurning some gilt edged chances. However I have more sympathy for them as no team has a right to earn anything after gifting three goals in that manner. Perversely, I'm even more optimistic about Tuesday than I was beforehand. Play like that and we've got a decent shout. As for Monk, the one thing I always clung to was the belief he'd sort the defence out. If anything it's got quite a bit worse.

Tis indeed. Hopefully between now and then Monk has the defensive types on triple sessions. Our recent bouts of mid-table obscurity have been very unSwansealike. It's about time we reverted to type.

In a perverse kind of way, I'm quite enjoying it. It's been a while. Certainly beats last season's seemingly endless run of exhibition games after we won the League Cup and immediately got to 40 points.
