Does anyone think the players are glad Laudrup has gone? 15:02 - Feb 9 with 5325 viewsRancid

Judging by the players body language yesterday and Ash running over to Monk it does make you think. No Laudrup hangover from what i saw yesterday.

Well i have to say that people keep mentioning Garcia yet we didn't have a problem with the bloke last year, so im guessing that the stories of poor fitness and wrong training methods are just pure fantasy ??

I would honestly like to hear a genuine reason for Garcia getting stick, it all maybe true for all i know.

Darren i tend to agree with your words on this, we may well have been just a touch unlecky with injuries and nothing else .

Go on I'll bite

Last year we had more functional soft tissue injuries than we did under Brendan

This year despite having a heavier fixture list in his infinite wisdom he decided to run the players into the ground 2 weeks into pre season. The result - fatigue. fatigue = increased risk of minor functional injury.

I agree that Canas's/Dyer and Michu's injuries were not preventable, but I'm sorry Garcia got his training programme from the David Moyes school of fitness and look how well that went...

It's good that we won't have any in the future anyway.

The board have done nothing of the sort. Do you not remember Jenkins's statement in which he called for an end to unsavoury rumours and praised Laudrup's class and dignity?

Fact is that these stories will always appear when a manager leaves. Football fans tend to close ranks behind their club in times of adversity and that's what's happened this week, Stories like this, whether they're true or not (and let's face it, most of them probably aren't) quickly become accepted fact and revisionism is rife, especially on this forum. For me, Laudrup did and excellent job here for most of his tenure and doesn't deserve to be slated or denigrated now that he's gone. What I do know is that our board doesn't sack managers lightly and certainly doesn't spunk away millions of pounds in compensation without thinking that they have a bloody good reason for doing so. In this case they obviously did think there was reason for doing so. And frankly, that's good enough for me.

Arf. Was this before, during or after Huw ( or someone very close to him) was leaking negative stuff to the press?

LIke I said, neither party comes out of this well and it sure as f*ck isn't as black and white as some people (on both sides) are painting it either.

Hopefully now that Garcia's 'training' and 'fitness' routines are gone, his injuries will lessen and he'll get a more frequent run of games.

I guess it was Garcia's work that emnes got injured in the very first match after he arrived here?

And what makes you think he didn't have a slight problem before the game?
At least Monk had the sense to make the change earlier rather than later, unlike ML who would have run him in to the ground the way he did Michu, Shelvey and Williams who were all playing with injuries.

Laudrup is one of the managers who actually are good at making changes during a match. Some managers wait until the 89th minut. Unfair thing to say.

This started as a sarcastic joke about Garcia and Emnes injury.
