He's tried to take a shortcut on one of those many paths on that very steep winding road. The hillside/mountain is densely covered in vegetation. The locals have said - you take the wrong one, and you can't/won't come out the other side!!
He took a wrong turn in life - and he took a wrong turn on that road.

Why would the Americans spend another £21M to acquire the Trust's shares?? - when they could buy the club for £68M, and then have Jenkins and Morgan's voting rights for control of the club.
You keep repeating that they are savvy business men - so they never had/needed the Trust's shares in the first place!! |
