And a merry Xmas to your good self too. I can't see the point of an ignore button on here myself. Everyone follows Rangers. And like most can take criticism if deserved or otherwise. Don't see the point of it myself but guessing you can't read this one JimmyR as you have ignored me !!! Happy Easter to yourself then !!! |
| Forum Reply | Christmas Games a great test at 17:36 23 Dec 2024
If you add in the Luton home game on the twelfth day of Christmas , the next four games are now all six pointers for where we currently preside in the league ie mid table obscurity.... The unbeaten run will come to an end surely during this period, if it doesn't then I will start questioning my own personal sanity because eleven games unbeaten doesn't happen to any Queens Park Ramgers team I have ever known... |

| Forum Reply | Have we ever had a wider range of quality in the squad ? at 08:53 23 Dec 2024
Thinking about this thread in particular, I would say the widest range of quality in our squad, would always be when "Mad as a Hatter" Mr Holloway was in charge !!! He could be brilliant, he could be erratic and dreadfully unhinged also and I think the squads he managed often suited his very variable personality !!! |

Crikey. You made your point about the left back issue. To be fair we have got Paal, and also Fox who has played left back as many times as he has played centre back and JCS has filled in there previously also. The latter two seemingly more injured than fit and Paal injured occasionally and out of form. And yes Santos was a mistake hence why Ashby brought in. Probably more down to Belk than Nourry but bash Nourry consistently with this one. And for whatever Nourry is or isn't, if you think he is the problem, having exaggerated his CV, it's the owners you should be calling out. The multi millionaire businessmen that appointed him, who obviously according to yourself been shafted by a young guy exaggerating his CV. As if they have never seen that kind of thing before. Give the guy some time. We are not in this for the short term. Clearly whatever you do as a job, you have got every decision you have ever made 100% on the money. It's Christmas, merry Christmas Christian and also Merry Christmas Wilkins and all who sail on here !!!! |

Of which he has learnt from and readapted the ways of communicating injuries. There is a heck of a lot more depth to this squad than previous seasons. We have achieved a recovery and this season we have had a dreadful injury record which seems to be jinxing us big time this last few months. The banging on the Nourry drum is IMO very harsh. He is a young man no doubt and he has a lot of power here - probably too much but the proof of this strategy is over a number of years ie having players we can make money on if they move onto bigger and better things. The running of the football club has to be thought in this way as we are never going to up our status whilst we play at Loftus Road so this is the way to do it. And we can all see certain players have that potential. There is always an issue in football that everything has to be immediate or else. We definitely in my eyes have the right manager and pleased we did not knee jerk react to us being bottom of the table and likewise with the hierarchy we have to give it time. Most successful clubs have provided a base that has been set for longevity. Glad on all counts we havent been too present focussed. Lets see where we are at the end of next season. I think most parts of the club must be given time. There are green shoots and we have to see where it all leads us. Yes there were two strange decisions in the left back and centre forward decisions. Didnt we get a million for Dykes and I think that fell into the category of passing on a player we could have not got more for and tbf Dykes was never a success here. The left back situation - I think they felt Fox who can play left back , Clarke Salter who can play there and obviously we had Paal and then they brought in Ashby last minute thinking he could cover too. Three injuries and one guy playing who could not adapt as well as may have been thought to playing on the other side. I was surprised Larkeche went on loan but now he is injured anyhow also at Dundee. We all know you cant get every decision right. Sometimes hardly any signings work out but to expect all of them to work from the word go is a harsh expectation. Lets see where we get to in the next eighteen months. I am hopeful without being deluded. The eternal fate of a QPR suppporter... [Post edited 22 Dec 19:47]

I would take Varane over Dozzell and certainly is more up for it than Taylor Richards so what greater compliments could you give to the man !!! 🤣🤣🤣 |

Usually there is only one or two changes incoming/outgoing in the January window. But if we can get a couple different full backs and perhaps with Cook out, another solid centre back, then perhaps the only other required addition could be a number nine. We got rid of Dozzell and reasonable money in for Dykes and Armstrong. I guess the proof is within the long term effects. A lot of the new players could potentially work over a longer period. We shall see. [Post edited 22 Dec 14:54]

Don't see this squad as the widest range of quality within the squad. Think they all have levels of talent, we just not seen it often enough as yet with some The late 80s early 90s was best for me for strength in depth, although am sure the mid 70s was the top bananas but before my time. Not sure as to widest range of quality and attitude though |
| Forum Reply | are women stronger than men... at 07:40 22 Dec 2024
Having worked in predominantly female dominated organisations in recent years, bitchiness is a thing. Men will say it how it is and say it to your face.. Women gossip more and stab you in the back without you knowing who it was. Obviously that's a massive generalisation but the numbers would back this up overall in my experiences. I not a great fan of boxing but watching women box is terrifying and sad for me. Guess it's a controlled way to release anger and stress. But depends obviously. My better half is a gentle soul. Nice Sunday morning debate about battle of the sexes. But there's apparently 67 genders now so it's a bit more complicated now !!!!!!¡ [Post edited 22 Dec 7:43]

I can't really agree with the statement of shocking recruitment Brian. Nardi, Morrison, Varane, Morgan, Saito and Dembele all shown signs of class and hunger and let's hope Celar picks up once he is back. And we have had a ridiculous amount of injuries to key players. To be fair though when have we ever had successful owners, or the hierarchy from the boardroom. For me, the success is down to the manager but "absolutely shocking recruitment" can't agree with that statement. Many i feel, have been decent and will continue as such. |

Would put him on a par with Clint Hill and Shaun Derry though. |
| Forum Reply | Jimmy Dunne at 22:05 21 Dec 2024
Added to his surprising transformation into a decent full back. It's the headers won at set pieces , both in defence and attack that make a difference. Hardly ever loses a duelnwherever it is on the pitch. Before Cifuentes transformed the guy and took a punt st Jimmy on the right, he was meekly slipping away and probably looking at moving on. He always comes across as such a decent guy as well and he has developed hero status with his last few performances given his awful family circumstances he has had to face. His old man is beaming up there, no doubt. |

A decent run of form solves a great deal of ills. I was as worried as most with our direction and it truly wasn't smelling of roses around here for long periods. I can't say hardly anyone saw this coming but things are seriously looking much much better. So as for signings Nardi Morrison Varane Morgan Saito All looking good Signings injured but have had few signs of improvement Dembele Celar Youth players progressing well Kolli Lloyd Other signings - some hopes Ashby Madsen Ones that a way to go Santos Bennie Existing squad players performing / injured Cook Dunne Smyth Field Chair Frey JCS Colback Others Paal EDB Anderson Seems a squad that does have more depth than previously if we look at recent form. Was Nourry ster right all along??? And as soon as we have all been made aware of who is injured once when they are due back - has coincided with upturn in form. Suddenly this forum has all gone quiet on the Nourry Out rhetoric !!! Am not being a smart a*se. I was worried about the set up as much as anyone,.. Was the data right all along ?? Get Saito signed i say. Great little player. Not his best game today hut he is often strong in challenges belying his size and has proved himself during this run of starts for him due to injuries to others. We actually have options right now. |
