Your first paragraph is the football internet in a nutshell .

Disappointing but we move on.

Especially after reading the thread about Andrew .
Puts it into perspective

This is terrible news. Known Andrew from going to QPR for the last 15 years or so and we often stopped and chatted .

Unbelievably sad to read this just now as I didn’t know .

That’s now 3 friends die in 5 days . Devastating , plus my son’s partners best friend who died of ‘flu’ at the age of 26 on Wednesday .
Been a terrible week and puts our result today in to perspective . It’s not important .

Rest easy Andrew, Jason and Freddie.

Fair point . Don’t fully agree as there could be loads of reasons why he wanted to put a player on and I only say that through experience, but I understand your point and reasons .

I do think we should be looking to move Madsen out on loan for the remainder of the season.

I just think that this league is way too quick and physical . Clive already told us that many other scouts and clubs left him alone for this very reason.

He ours for the foreseeable future so maybe a loan to Scotland or something might help . Lesser quality but just as physical?
Not sure, but he is a five a side footballer and can’t cope with our football as it stands .

The fact we have paid more money for him than we have for anybody else for yonks , means questions should be asked at the ‘fans forum’ next week .

Oh I forget , the questions are controlled and vetted beforehand . Silly me

Works both ways . Maybe the player he replaced needed replacing .
We always seem to forget that the bench has all the data there. We don’t, yet we (including me ) think we know best .

Fair assessment I think .
Expected a sub or 2 at half time myself and we didn’t pounce on the momentum turning our way with Kolli’s goal . 5 mins later it’s too late

Our attitude to the trophy competitions, is why our 'honours' list is so pathetic.

Yeah because if MC picks Dunne, Smyth , Morgan and Nardi today , we’d be everyone’s favourite to win the cup this year !

Give over

He had a very poor game and I’m surprised he wasn’t replaced but MC doesn’t usually do that . He sees a bigger picture in harming his confidence long term and letting the player play his way out of poor form . He left fox on V Portsmouth when we all thought he should be hooked.

He just needs to learn when to try difficult things and when to do it simple . At the moment he wants to try tricks in flicks in too many dangerous areas .
Was napping for the penalty too and generally was poor but these things happen to all players .
It’s how he recovers I think .

I do think Edwards will play next week and Dunne will play right back . Difficult game for Edwards and JCS too wasn’t it

No and as I say , it was a fair comment by yourself .

F*cking hate losing games as much as the next fan and will have the proper arse ache for a couple of hours …but a few days ago I called the MC can’t win today and I stand by that .

6 shots on target and 6 goals is brutal. We made mistakes and got severely punished. Leicester deserved their win but the scoreline is harsh beyond belief.
I think some get carried away about our recent form too. We have done great …but the Championship is absolute bilge. So although I agree with Ned that we could easily go on a bad run now , I hope that really that keeps our feet on the floor and we learn from it and improve as a team.
Time will tell.

West Brom, in top 6 of championship losing 4-1 now at Bournemouth so let’s all take a deep breath.
We ain’t great but today in the much bigger picture it’s not the end of the world .

The 4500 were and are magnificent too. Tremendous support .

Fair comment .

But where I’d disagree with you Brian is we have given the ball away just us much in every game in the last 2 months but you me and most of everyone else has said we’ve played well.

Today our mistakes have been well and truly punished ..they don’t usually (they do occasionally of course) . So win games and people say we have played well and we have . Today most fans will look at the score and think we’ve been garbage . We haven’t .
Not so good in the second half admittedly and they have deserved their win .
But come on it’s not being terrible . They are simply more clinical than us on the break .
Putting the 2 squads together and putting emotion to one side whose would you choose ?

As I said previously, you have to take care of the football and that is a huge lesson from today. The 6th goal just sums it up in a nutshell .

So the post was correct in my eyes .

And just to add , usual people on here moaning and bitching and getting their little ‘QPR losing erections’, but looking at the amount of times they’ve posted during the match , they can’t be watching it properly so you know …mute and carry on

5 goals from only 5 shots on target from 5 errors.

Incredibly harsh score line but a huge lesson to be learned.

“Take care of the football” as Mark Warburton would say every 10 mins . But he was right

You can say what you like about the team selection , not read through this thread and the usual suspects probably have, but we’ve played really well . We’re the better side for big chunks of that .

But if you keep giving the ball away in the middle of the park (like we do a fair bit) against a Premier League team you will get punished . And punished we have been .
Naive and from Ashby . Admire the confidence but that’s plainly stupid . Kolli too for the 3rd goal but tucked his goal away nicely .

Couple of strong subs (Dunne for Ashby maybe ) and we have a chance

Perhaps. Flip side to that is a coach is judged on his league position .
Mark Robins is a prime example of that . That’s how coaches live and die so I can understand if MC approached it differently to the fan base .
I hope you are right but would understand it if he rested a couple.

Yep would agree in principle mate .

But if he rests a couple I would understand I guess is what I’m saying whilst being slightly frustrated that we might not totally go for Leicester, who will surely rest players themselves.

I can see the data guys requesting to manage the minutes of someone like Frey for example.
As someone else mentioned , what is a ‘weakened team’ anyway. Colback needs minutes so is likely to start / play an hour and only 6 weeks ago we were screaming for his return . I have no insight at all but someone like Field must be getting into red zones etc so do we play him again in a cup competition we have a slim to no chance of winning or do we rest him so we don’t risk him him being available for the rest of the season?
I can see that argument whilst not fully agreeing .

The positive side is we have recently manufactured a situation where we are not deep in the proverbial so that’s where I agree with you that we can go strong at Leicester .
Unfortunately for people like me (of a certain age ) the priority of all football clubs is league football unless you miraculously find yourself in the later rounds.
That’s something I think I’ve now just accepted as sad as that is .

Cifuentes can win. He can play his strongest available team.

In your eyes and many others Brian , yes.
But many don’t see it like that in equally ,let’s say , slightly grumpy terms , and that’s the point of my post.
Same every year . Both sides of the argument .

Unfortunately we are once again in a position where we are not completely safe from being sucked back into that dogfight at the bottom and some people including the club I would imagine would rather be sure of Championship football next year than some notion of us winning the FA Cup which are such long odds . Pick up a suspension on Saturday and a bad injury or 2 (see Mackie and Faurlin for previous FA cup 3rd round career threateners ) to important players and MC will be lynched for risking them. All hypothetical of course but it’s an understandable fear ….to some .

Not my opinion , before I start getting pelters but a bigger picture view I can understand without fully agreeing with .

Yes , and as I mentioned elsewhere I wouldn’t mind betting the 4th official Gavin Ward added to that fiasco
