the gulags are everything i hate about modern football, mindless drones in replica shirts drinking sh*t beer out of plastic glasses, engaging in cringeworthy "BANTZ" and not questioning anything about the fact the club and game are rinsing them dry and only see them as wallets to be drained.

yup i'm the same, it's like an abusive relationship really.

There's close to nothing left of what i loved when i started, and the bits i hate are held up as being great, or are thrown back at me by the exact people i don't want to engage with as how they're right, but yet i can't walk away from it.

Part of that is stubbornness, if i give up the geeks and plastics win, part of that is because Southampton FC mean far more to me than a game of football,

Plus of course the old maxim is true that you should never let the football get in the way of a day out at the football, and the fact it's my chance to see family and friends and have a laugh plays a huge part in why i still go

I'm not losing in interest in Saints, i'm jaded and depressed by them but it's still my home city and i'll never lose that pride for it.

I am losing interest in football in general though, the whole f*cking thing is rigged, terrace culture and atmosphere's are dead or dying everywhere and the new generation of social media influencers make me wish Putin nuked us now.

I knew people doing that right up to the mid/late 90's, usually older fellas who couldn't do aways but could make Saints and Bournemouth.

Think these days Saints and Eastleigh or Saints and Sholing is more common for people that do that though.

Plus don't forget when the scores were done half time at the Dell if the skate were losing you'd get a cheer, and if the cherries were winning you'd get a cheer.

I quite like them and think it's good to see them doing well, genuinely hope they get Europe too as it'll be a different side to the normal lot doing it.

As for their fans being arseholes when i lived that way most weren't arseholes at all and didn't really care about us, it's only the weird new soccer am generation that do.

Your dislike for bournemouth is bizarre mush, they're no different to Brentford or Brighton and considerably better placed than us at the moment

I actually think 130 is right, Bournemouth or Brighton would be perfect moves for him. Keeps him in the league and potentially with europe, but not the same egos as the money clubs

Personally i think Dibiling is the best young player i've seen us produce for a generation.

If he can stay fit and play under the right manager he'll go right to the top.

The question for me is are his agents sensible enough to see that he's better going for a big move in 2-3 seasons instead of now, because what he needs now is game time in a side built around him rather than being a sub at a club full of multi millionaires

Would probably much better for his career if he did but I think this will be a money talks one and his agent will want the biggest pay day he can get.

I think you're absolutely right they should, but it's Everton who are a basket case so they absolutely won't.

If you're talking about improving his career i'd have thought Arsenal were the perfect team for Dibling, Spurs seem a really weird one as I doubt Levy would pay what's needed and i don't think it's a good place for him to go given the mess they're in.

Are we as fans really that unhappy to return to the Championship?
at 11:19 24 Jan 2025

Depends what you mean by happy, i'm looking forward to the new grounds that we'll get tick off and the fact we'll probably have two proper derbies is a good thing.

But the flip side is people i know will probably lose their jobs so that's sh*t

Edit to say:

Also i forgot that the championship now have those god awful early kick offs which will make loads of away games a complete pain to get to too, that'll definitely make it worse than last time

Newcastle Ticket Exchange

I can't make Newcastle for personal reasons, but i'm going to every game in February.

To be honest i'm kind of numb to football in general these days, we as supporters have lost.

The game was bought and sold as entertainment to others, our opinions and culture don't matter to them, we know how they think of most of us here, we're "legacy fans".

So like others i'll enjoy seeing my friends and family, take pride from my city and frankly hate the game itself.

The sooner the whole house of cards collapses the better, i'll hopefully still be here after, but the c*nts that run it, the plastics that cheerlead it and the TV companies that ruined it won't be.

Crystal Palace aren't in Crystal Palace, and Chelsea are technically not in Chelsea

I don't think i've ever been in the lower tier since they moved the away end from the side.

Saying that it's a damn slight better than when you were half a mile from the pitch with cars in front of you like it was when i first went

Logged in to pick mine up about 10am and most of the top tier was gone, was really surprised about that given it's midweek and we're going to get shafted.

Saying that the top tier is always more popular at Chelsea because if memory serves they don't serve alcohol in the lower tier because it "has views of the pitch"
