Next seasons kits?
at 13:46 23 Apr 2025

For me it is classic hoops at home as few adornments as possible and please produce a long sleeve version .For the away kit I would like to see the red and black stripes as worn for a couple of seasons at the end of the sixties. Always looked continental and classy.

Do you get extra money for finishing higher up the table, if so how much?

On this day in 1976...
at 19:45 18 Apr 2025

I also went with my cousin and a load of mates on a coach from either the Springbok or the Smutts with a bunch of herberts from White City and Wormholt, the roads were crammed with blue and white all assuming we were winning the league. At the end of the game I knew, we all knew we'd blown it, one of the saddest days of my life. We didn't even have the energy to have a go at the yokels taunting us at the end. Tragic, still makes me weep to this day.

Players that left the club and it hurt as a fan
at 15:38 18 Apr 2025

Rodney I cried and ripped his Poster from my wall, but then Stan replaced him in my heart. But later on, it was a manager not a player. When Terry Venables left to become El Tel at Barcelona I was shattered. Thought we had the best manager in the world for many seasons to come.

are we safe, yes or no....

Just looked at the odds and bookies have us between 20-1 and 25-1.

Do they know something we don't they seem like very long odds to me for a team dropping like stones and playing like QPR

Yes and the standard today was better than last week, better than Swansea away, better than Oxford at home etc etc. People seem surprised that we are not very good, I'm just relieved that we didn't lose, didn't give up lots of chances to the opposition, ran around a bit, put in some tackles, put in some effort and kept the gap to bottom three.

It was pretty ropey football, but right now that is the least of our worries.

For Gods sake, it is no longer 1976 we are a crap second division team at the fag end of a season where our sole aim is to stay up. Going to a game like that expecting to see total football is like putting on channel 5 and expecting Shakespeare. Get real we didn't lose, that'll do for me. If that Smyth shot near the end had gone in and we'd won 1-0 it would have been a perfect football match.

I'm with Logman. In the big picture a draw was better for us than them. It was not a good football match, but not a bad outcome, never really looked like conceding, plenty of shifts put in, much more solid at the back, I'll take that in our position. In the words of a great footballing sage if you want entertainment go to a circus.

Most unpleasant book you’ve ever read?

Blue is the Colour official history of the Chelsea Shirt. Given to me by my son in law as a Christmas present to wind me up. Horrific, upsetting, nasty, makes Cormac McCarthy read like Mary Poppins.

Introduction to the demon drink
at 15:32 21 Mar 2025

Light and bitter known as the dockers's cocktail. All the lairy boys drank that, i prefered light and lager. Always told dont drink mild, they put the slops in it.

can't even taste cider after throwing up at the old cider house on the Harrow Road, a proper rough ouse where the regulars never seem to have any socks on, as if the cider had rotted their hosiery as well as their brains.

Still like a pint of Paulaner when you can get it.
