Every club has a fanbase that has people from all walks of life, every Millwall supporter isn't a violent psychopath, every Manchester United fan doesn't live in Slough, every club has a broad cross section of supporters of all types, we all want the same thing and that is a successful club. |

I knew you were having a little jest, but in these turbulent times some would not see that, so i thought id best explain |

In fairness to them, they are two of the most loyal supporters the club have and follow the team to every game home and away, I don't know them that well, but I see them at all the games. I might not particularly agree with the sentiments in their poem, but they cannot be knocked for their dedication to Southampton FC over a very long period of time. As I always say I appreciate that everyone is entitled to support the club in whatever way they want to and they are no different to anyone else in that respect. We seem to live in a world now where its a sin to express support for the club, as i say I might not agree with their viewpoint, but i would rather 30,000 people like them in the ground than 30,000 empty seats |

You have a point, but given that most of the tickets are delivered digitally to the phone app, once you have priced the tickets there is very little work to physically do once you have set the price other than stare at a computer screen every now and then. The ticket office manager has targets to meet, the CEO and subsequently the owners will be asking why we had say 10,000 at the game with an average price paid of £15 and gate receipts of £150,000 And why we didn't have 20,000 with an average price of £10 and gate receipts of £200,000 or 30,000 with a £7.50 average and £225,000 plus the added income from the fanzones and merchandising. The ticket office manager has got this badly wrong or perhaps Dragan did get involved and said Iv'e stuck 100; of millions into this club and all the thanks i get is people slagging me off on social media so (Serbian words for F*** them) |

No disrespect but have you ever been involved with ticket pricing at SFC ? I have been consulted up to fairly recently and the ticket office manager and the marketing director were the people responsible, between them they would set the price that would be rubber stamped by the CEO & board. There is a process, the pricing would start with the ticket office and work upwards and not the other way round, Phil Parsons as CEO oversees each department, he doesn't run it for them, it would be highly unusual for the CEO to get involved at any level other than rubber stamping it or putting in some imput at a very late stage, the owners would not be involved at any stage. The conversation does not go Phil Parson's - Dragan Im just ringing you to ask if we should charge £10, £15 or £20 for the Swansea game ? If it did the reply would probably go Dragan - Im paying you a lot of money to oversee other people on a lot of money to deal with these trivial matters so (Serbian words for f*** off)

Probably the attendance looked smaller as most were in the main stand at Bramall lane, the side the cameras were on, on Sunday our attendance will look bigger because tv viewers will only see the 3 sides of the ground that are actually open and not the Kingsland stand which is closed where the cameras are. This seems to be a tactical move by the club to make it look good, but they would have been better served to have made the attendance look better by selling tickets at a reasonable price and filling the ground . Up to the mid to late 60's Everton were the bigger club in terms of honours won, Liverpool were considered the peoples club, but Bill Shankly changed all that and by 1975 things had changed completely. I agree Sheffield United are a similar size fanbase to us, but they do so with a smaller potential catchment, Sheffield is a city with approximately 550,000 but they share that with Sheffield Wednesday so half of that is 275,000, which is virtually identical to the population of the Southampton city population. So from that basis things are even, but then we come to the urban area and Southampton is surrounded by built up areas that have no football teams ie Hythe, Totton, Romsey, Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Hedge End, Hamble, all outside the official City boundary, you could also add Winchester. That gives us an urban area of about 800,000, Sheffield just has Rotherham with a population of 100,000 and has a football team of it's own so will take some but not the majority of football supporters in the town. Barnsley is quite near Sheffield as is Chesterfield, but again these are town with their own football teams and are out of the urban area. So we have a far bigger potential catchment numbers than either Sheffield club, Sheffield get a raw deal in footballing support reputation, but pro rata the two Sheffield clubs combined attendance is one of the the best in the country |

I don't have an obsession with Broja, I just gave my opinion. I tell you what why don't you use your energy in asking the club why they bought Ross Stewart, as that seems to be a bug bear to you an others, rather than try to tell me what was in my mind. If you and 100 others who are raging at Sport Republic and aren't going to the game because they aren't giving the club anymore money, protest at the Ted Bates statue on Sunday then Sport Republic will stand up and take notice, the meidia will stand up and take notice and perhaps things will change. I try to stick on footballing matters these days rather than political ones regarding the club owners, I do so because I have been there and done that, I apologise that you are getting the brunt of my rant, but I am frustrated that plenty of people have opinions, but absolutely not one person out of a fanbase of 50,000 is actually willing to put themselves out and do something about it other than bicker on social media. Ross Stewart is a drop in the ocean, Broja is a drop in the ocean, there are far more important issues to address. Once again apologies for biting at this post |

1 teem & Buggalugs have got it spot on, asn says about having a go at the fans and points out Everton's fan base, but football is all relative, if Everton have a bigger fanbase that is 3 times the size and get 40,000 then we should be pulling 13-14k for this game. I don't have a go at Saints fans, everyone supports the club to the level they want to, I just compare our attendances against other clubs, for some clubs how bad the club is run or how bad the results doesn't stop people going, they go and protest. We don't have a fan base like that , Everton get out on the streets, we give a strong telling off to Sport republic on social media. The demographic of our fan base has changed, Everton's doesn't seem to have. I don't slag our fans off i just compare them to what we aspire to be and then people assume I am slagging the fans off when the comparison doesn't show us in a favourable light.

In an article on the front page I pointed all these prices out, but the fact remains that you could have bought kids tickets for £5 in the first week of the sale and now you can get them for £7.50 up till the day of the game, so people have had the chance to get them at a cheaper rate. I do agree that putting them up on the day is counter productive, but there is plenty of opportunity to buy tickets at the general sale rate. But things like this arent the owners fault, it is those who run the ticket office, they are the ones pricing the game not Dragan Solak & Sport Republic, hold them to task for appointing the CEO as that is where the buck stops on small every day issues such as this |

There is that irony, Broja has a worse scoring record in the Premier League than Che Adams and an injury record this season as bad as Ross Stewart yet he has a better reputation amongst Saints supporters |
| Forum Reply | FA Cup Tickets at 21:53 9 Jan 2025
Its only £7.50 for kids at St Mary's |

Barely played for Everton this season as been injured, just gone down after an inoccuos challenge, looks like either a fracture or a ligament snapped. |

Norwich are charging £10 for the visit of Brighton at the weekend, Brentford £15 for their game against Plymouth, Ipswich V Bristol Rovers £10, shows that Saints are overpriced |

Adams got 5 goals in 23 starts plus 5 as sub in the Premier Leaguetwo seasons ago, Archer has 2 goals in 9 starts plus 10 as sub, very similar scoring records. Stu to be honest legs had gone, he had not been the same player in his final 3 seasons as he had been in the previous seasons, in 22/23 he started just 14 Premier League games, in 21/22 just 15. Last season dropping down a level made it easier for him, but he would not have been good enough this season, he turns 33 in a couple of months. In 9 games he could have played for Vancouver, he missed 3 presumably through injury and started just 1 with another 5 off the bench, totalling 124 minutes out of 810 in total |

In fairness its not all about geeks looking at videos & data although that is part of it, it is just a starting point. Saints have a vast network of scouts who go and watch the players that get flagged up in person and give their reports. Truth is there is no cast iron formula, it is a numbers game, for every gem you unearth there is 6-10 players that don't reach those heights , some do ok and others fail miserably. But then there are loads of players who have failed miserably at one club and then succeeded at another, Kevin Danso for instance, deemed a failure here and now worth £25 million and highly desired |

You are right Sulemana has made it in professional football, he has played for Saints in the Championship and Premier League totalling 50 games and he starred for Rennes in the French top flight and scored for fun in the Danish Super League, He can say he has made it, but he isn't a Premier League quality player, although that may be due to circumstances and I wouldnt be surprised to see him succeed at another Premier League club. He was a rich man before he joined us, football is about financially balancing out the success's with the failures. He has not been a a success at Saints though, to call him an utterly useless piece of sh*t though is ungracious and wrong, yes he has been awful here, but he is not the first player to be terrible for us and then prosper elsewhere. He is a professional footballer, he doesn't care who he plays for, it's not personal for him, it's not working out so he moves on, that doesn't make him a bad person or deserving of abuse . I don't want him to play another game this season, but I don't say anything about him that I wouldnt say to his face, in football you never know what happens next as those who spent the best part of season 2015/16 slagging off Sadio Mane found out in the latter part of the season ( I can't remember your stance on Mane Pat so not a dig at you) |

Bruce said he had an outstanding chance of making it in professional football, not that he will make it as a top quality player |
| Forum Thread | Dom Ballard Recalled from Loan at 22:38 6 Jan 2025
Not expecting him to get in the first team squad, his record at Blackpool hasn't been good, 10 starts and 8 as sub with only 1 goal out of 22 possible games in League 1. Not started much in the last 2 months, so I would expect that its more a mutual consent thing and Saints will try to get him out on loan again for the second half of the season |
