In the build up to the goal an earlier cross came in and it looked like a West Ham player was offside but it doesn’t looked they looked at it. As for the red card I thought two footed tackles was a sending off. He took out KWP.
Perhaps if he issued an apology for his behaviour v Chelsea it might help. He let the club, players, himself and most importantly the fans down. He is supposed be setting an example as Captain but pulling a players hair was pathetic. Maybe I missed but I haven’t heard a peep from him. I said it at the time Stephens should never play for the club again.
Some ‘folk’ simply can’t afford tickets and trains etc a few days before Christmas. Others simply can’t get to games anymore due to personal circumstances. Doesn’t mean they care less about the team or views are less valid. I thought the ‘we’ve had a shot’ song was quite funny and a bit of gallows humour in what has been a miserable season.
Rohl would be a good shout. Given our current position I can’t see Potter or a big name taking over. Rohl knows the club and has done well on a limited budget at Sheffield Weds. We are certain to go down so Rohl with a remit to see an improvement in the second half of the season and then rebuild wouldn’t be a bad option.
Anyone decent thinking of taking over will be asking the owners what funds will be made available to strengthen the squad not just this season but more importantly next so we can bounce straight back up. Without money I seriously doubt Potter or Moyes or any other experienced manager would take the job. Expect someone from the lower leagues or someone you’ve never heard of.
It would be virtually impossible to dismiss Martin unless there was gross misconduct or grounds to start a process based on performance. The team being useless would not be grounds. Far too many parameters that a manager could use to take on any dismissal process. I’m afraid it’s pay up the remainder of his contract as the only realistic option.
