Yep. Rearranged for Stockton’s ground next Wednesday. |

Taking a while, this. What’s going on? No use to travelling fans at all. [Post edited 4 Jan 9:57]

And Moulden didn’t go back to his parent club to almost immediately reappear at one of our nearest, in terms of league standings, competitors. |

Amidst all this is someone at the club going to ask why, with a hardcore of 2000+ season ticket holders, appparently only 300 tickets had been sold to home fans by this morning. Is it the uncertainty over the weather and the state of the pitch. The vagaries of a fixture list which means that people get out of the habit of going to Spotland? By my reckoning Dale have had two Saturday 3.00pm kickoffs since the end of September. The perceived relatively weakness of the visitors? The closure of the Sandy? Perceived weaknesses in the ticketing system? The style of football? Lack of money straight after Christmas? An amalgam of all the above? |

Something will have to be done urgently. The next round of the FA Trophy is timetabled for Saturday 1st February with the draw presumably on Monday. What takes priority on a Tuesday? The FA Trophy or the NL Trophy? We certainly don’t want to end up like Halifax last season, playing “home” games at places like Accrington and Chesterfield. |

Spotland pitch inspection at 9.30am tomorrow morning. |

I can hear the wailing of Oldham fans from here. His loan spell has expired at Boundary Park and Wigan have almost immediate agreed a fee of £350k with York City for him…… A lot of money for an NL player. |

I know it’s no yardstick but Halifax’s game versus AFC Fylde, rearranged from New Year’s Day to tomorrow, has just been postponed again. A previously waterlogged Shay pitch is now frozen. |

When I started this thread it wasn’t to start a debate about the pros and cons of the Sandy being open but rather to ask which part of the ground other Sandy dwellers were going to use tomorrow. And I haven’t had one answer. I think I’ll spend £5 and sit in the main stand but I’ll be buying a ticket on arrival. I may be an IT dinosaur but I don’t trust my phone and this ticketing system. |

Looking at the latest weather forecast we might escape the worst of the weather so there’s a chance the game may go ahead. It’s all a far cry from five years ago this weekend when Dale played Newcastle United at home in the third round of the FA Cup and the ground was virtually full. Five years later and we haven’t, for a variety of reasons, sold 300 tickets for the visit of another northeastern club in a different cup competition. |

It looks like the BBC have amended their weather forecast to read a misty rather than frosty night tonight and for the snow to hold off until tomorrow evening. |

Barnet, Oldham, Forest Green and Gateshead all losing at the moment. Might be a good day after all. |

For it’s worth Halifax v AFC Fylde is postponed due a waterlogged pitch. No surprise there with the Shay pitch as it is. |

Can we just not withdraw from that NL Cup and put it down to experience? We’ll be running out of Tuesday nights at this rate. |

Four consecutive defeats now for Leicester and five losses in the last seven games. |

Heavy rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday according to the forecast on my phone. Followed by temperatures of between -2 and -4 on Thursday and Friday. |

I’ve just seen a photo of Gigg Lane on X - didn’t realise that one side of the ground is now called the “Arthur Ashworth Stand”. Surely it hasn’t been named after THE Arthur Ashworth? |

Several of the younger end have mentioned recently that they would like to move from the Sandy next season and use the end block of the Pearl Street stand nearest to Willbutts Lane as a designated singing area. If this were to happen it begs the question as to where away supporters would be housed if the current policy of mothballing the Willbutts Stand were to continue? I hope no-one has the bright idea of turning the Sandy into the away end although it would have several matchday advantages from the club’s point of view. It would re-open a historic controversy though. |

Were season ticket holders given the option of purchasing their usual seats before tickets went on general sale? There could be a few noses out joint if people turn up at ten to three to find the drummer and his mates already in their usual seats. I have to say that the pricing is eminently sensible and could attract a lot of people desperate for a Saturday afternoon 3.00pm kickoff. |
