Went to see Letz Zep (Zeppelin tribute band) in the Patti on Friday. Really good show, even if the crowd wasn't all that. The drummer looked quite a bit like Tom "Spiderman" Holland. |

The last Conservative Goverment was incompetent. This new Labour one seems to be deliberately malevolent. |

Wrexham's turnover is already up there with some of the biggest sides in the Championship, and they haven't got access to the extra TV money yet. They'd have declared a significant profit this year if a loan by R&R hadn't been repaid. Their commercial income is probably a cut above any club outside the PL IMO. I really don't see them having any kind of PSR issues for a couple of years yet, if at all. |

No Government has effectively dealt with the problem since Tony Blair threw the doors wide open in 1997 in a deliberate effort to create "a successful multi-cultural society". I note that they left this policy out of their manifesto. Now, in an increasingly difficult market for renters, Governments are actively competing against British tenants for housing space. The country is basically screwed and nobody in power is prepared to do anything about it. |

Hell Freezing Over. Dogs and Cats living in peace. Cardiff Fans admitting that they're not really a massive club. Me and J247 agreeing wholeheartedly on something. |

I think there's a real possibility of people starting to gripe in about six months time when he's not appeared to do a bit of keepy uppy at half time in a game. Everyone involved has been quite clear in stating that his first priority for the moment is continuing his playing career, preferably at Real. He may be someone that the board consult with (like Ben Davies apparently) but he's still a fair ways off from being anything like hands on. |
 | Forum Reply | Swans still to have official talks with Sheehan at 21:29 22 Apr 2025
I don't disagree. I'm also well aware that if it doesn't work out in the long term some people will be criticising them for going down the "Easy, cheap" route and appointing him instead of the latest Euro darling. At the very least we can probably expect to be competent under Sheehan. Certainly no mugs, probably fighting for a top ten spot without too much trouble. The club will be asking itself if there's someone out there who can potentially offer more than that. It's a hard call to make. They don't deserve grief over it. [Post edited 22 Apr 21:43]

Less than two months ago lots of people were horrified at the prospect of "Cheap Option" "Watson's Mate" getting even a caretaker role. The club can't afford to be as changeable as supporters often are. They have to be sure that the decision they make is the right one. I don't blame them for taking their time over it, even if I agree that he's probably the logical choice. |

Yep. The 5% stake might be in the club or the holding company (if it still exists). There's a fair bit of PR doing the rounds about this. Still, hard to see it as anything other than a positive. People are taking note of the club now who weren't before. Certainly it's hard to think of a downside to it. |

Since Cooper was sacked we've basically foundered about making bad choice after bad choice. Unlike others I can't even blame the players because they've been brought in to do jobs that managers have either not wanted or been capable of employing them to do effectively. Sheehan may be the best option just because of the simplicity that he offers. Here's a guy who picks people in their best positions and sends the team out to play in a way that suits them. Radical thinking the way that the game is going. |

Two coaches cut from the same cloth. The club understood that Martin's approach was fatally flawed when they appointed Duff. Doing a complete 180 when we sacked Duff and giving Russy's clone the job has basically wasted two years. |

They've been full of themselves for years. A bog standard, Championship/League One club somehow convinced that they deserve to be counted amongst the big boys just because they're in the "Capitol". I mean, ignoring the reality that Cardiff isn't even a proper Capital city, more of a regional administrative centre in a similar vein to Dijon or Magdeburg, the idea that say, Charlton Athletic fans would lord it over Birmingham supporters just because they were based in London? Pathetic. |

I don't envy them making this decision with plenty waiting to pounce on it. As well as Sheehan has done, and he has done bloody well, if they think another candidate has higher levels then they may make that call, and they'll take pelters. As things stand I suspect that it's AS's job to lose though. |
 | Forum Reply | Just give him the job at 19:20 21 Apr 2025
I'm fairly sure when he was caretaker the last time around he made it pretty clear that he didn't want it. Things may have changed since. |

If Darling goes we may be in the market for two anyway, unless Lissah is ready to step up or they're happy to keep Naughton around as a backup. The latter option wouldn't concern me one bit. |
