ticket fiasco part 389 21:11 - Nov 27 with 8098 viewsNewhousemustscore

Be gentle cos I've never posted on here before. Aston Villa away tickets went on sale to season ticket holders who are Jackarmy members last week. They will be going on general sale next week. I didn't get paid until this week so I've just tried to buy tickets for my family, only to find out I can't because I'm a season ticket holder who is a Jackarmy member & tickets are only on sale to non season ticket holding Jackarmy members. So, I can't buy a ticket this week cos I paid over a grand in season tickets for my family to support my club. If I hadn't bothered I'd be able to get them. Will I get a chance to buy them next week or will civil servants be given preference for general sale of Villa tickets as appears to be the norm nowadays. Is there no end to the nonsensical way the ticket office is run or is it just me? PS I know this isn't on the "ticket forum" but everyone seems to be posting ticket related stuff on here.

And thats all everyone else is saying is its not right.

What do you suggest? Everyone says nothing and just rolls over and takes one for the team?

Nothing to do with being precious is it, as the OP has just stated, you're getting your knickers in a twist about the DVLA 400, whats the difference?

If people dont speak up then the system doesn't get changed, not difficult to understand really is it.

big difference in order of sales and giving 400 tickets away...ffs

I also paid for the 3 game package and don'r agree with what has been done with the tickets, not getting hot under the collar, just saying it as it is which some can't take.

I understand your situation as I am in the same boat.

I wanted to get tickets to see a band, they went on sale a week before i got paid and sold out on the day, nobody's to blame other than me for not keeping money aside to get them when i could have.

Same goes for the ticketing system for the Swans.

The club have been doing tickets the way they see fair in so much as they have a loyalty scheme (JA) and this is what we have so we just have to make the most of it until it changes.

Go to meetings and put your point across if you feel so strongly that it needs changing or voe with your wallet and feet.

Is that a joke? You're comparing loyal season ticket holders with a band groupie? Yeah right o mate.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

so where are all these loyal season ticket holders when we have played the Euro games at home?

few thousand didn't turn up, plastics? loyal? you tell me.

The board are going to get it from somewhere because whatever is decided, it won't please everyone.

As for the I'm alright jack comment, no, I accept my circumstances and get on with it, not whinge on a football forum, It's not the clubs fault that this guy didn't have funds to buy tickets for this game til the week after he was allowed to.

Thats life, deal with it!!!!!

And that (voting with wallet and feet) unfortunately, is exactly what people are doing, including ST holders who are the lifeblood of any club.its embarrassing.

As i said, i'm alright Jack.

I've said it before and i'll continue to say it. The day we stop questioning our board/club, is the day we turn into cardiff city.

This issue does not affect me personally at all, but i can see that it isn't working. Who is saying the its the clubs fault that he didn't have money? Care to point that out? The system is flawed and needs amending.

The board have done and will continue to do wonderful things for this club i have no doubt, but that does not mean that we accept the things that they do wrong either.

Football Forum = Where views should be aired. Even if it is a whinge or complaint. Believe me the club does get to see these things from here, we already suspect Leigh Dineen posts here! Plus the shambles that is the SWEP mentions these forums in its articles. As Neath said, the day people stop complaining is the day we become more like Cardiff.

Did people roll over and accept the poll tax all those years ago? No...why...because we live in a democracy! People have a say and these forums are one way to get that say whether you like it or not Andy.

Tubbs: Will heaven be like Swansea? Edward: Yes, Tubbs. Only... bigger.

It doesn't change the system though does it.

I only stated facts.

Miss your turn, take your chance....simples.

What else is there to say.

I know let's moan about being too late getting tickets and blame the system.

You know what.... Tough shit

For away games it should be:

Week 1 - ST JA members
Week 2 - ST JA members + non-ST JA members
Week 3 - Everyone

For JA ST members to only have that 1 week window is wrong. In week 2 the majority of ST JA members would have bought their tickets anyway, it's just giving people like the OP a little extra time to buy their away ticket

Without doubt, Steve.

Can you think of why it's not, what is the club's rationale behind the current method?

Yes.ST holders being unable to get a ticket for an away that's 30 days away is bonkers.... We have people on this forum asking for JA link ups of non-ST holders?.. It just doesn't make sense?. It's easy to say tough shit etc etc but we have to push for a bit of common sense here?.

Basically it's to do with the 70/30 percentage split.

A way forward could be:

1a. Week one - 70% made available to season ticket holding Jack Army members.
1b. Week one - 30% made available to Jack Amy members who are not season ticket holders.

2. Week two - any tickets left can be purchased by season-ticket Jack army members and Jack Army members.

This would enable people to have seats together season ticket or no season ticket.

3. Week three - any tickets left released for general sale.

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

Cant be the same Andy1300 that was crying over the allocation for the CC final back in February?.

As my memory serves, "Tough Sh*t" didn't wash back then when unhappy with ticketing policy.

Of course, if its a different Andy, I stand corrected.

the difference back then was that the club changed the policy during the ticket sales period.

this system has been in force for the last 3 seasons i believe, nothing has changed during that time .

Not really the same thing is it?

I can't be arsed to trawl through all your posts to find something on you.

It may have been in place for three seasons, but it's still utterly piss poor and needs sorting out.

Having the tickets on sale for a week for ST holders and then taking them off sale while other people can still buy them is just pointless. Probably the fault of the ticketing system rather than the club's policy, but still something that needs sorting.
