Remember the Mirror's Paul Smith from Faurlingate? on 13:17 - Apr 7 by Northernr
Ok, well he'll get it from the people who are going to have to cough up £700-£800 for Championship football and if that is the case then he'll deserve it.
Fair enough,we'll see,IF we go down. But getting back to the OP,how acceptable journalistic standards have dropped. Maybe it's because I'm an Old Caaaant....

I don't think it's as much about his opinion, which is probably not far from the truth, but more about the bitter and vindictive way he's gone about expressing it.
+1... The way he spoke about Fernades was ridiculous, people have short memories remember Briatore and Eccelston , we were a joke club who wouldnt even give Warnock the cash to sign Wayne Routledge. £20 supporters.remember what they thought of us? Give me TF any day. Fernandes has backed the club probably too much but at least he has backed it Its easy to be wise afterwards re MH. But many on here wanted Warnock out
Paul Smith should be banned from press meetings ( Possibly he ? The Mirror wouldnt care anyway) If Fergie can do it to certain journos who speak out of turn

Like was mentioned on another post :: How come we get all the attention from the media when Blackburn make us look like the best run football club and company in the world...

Had a feeling you'd show up.
Well come on Blob, it's all true.
I just don't understand the thinking behind our transfer policy, especially after last season. We can blame Hughes all we like but at the end of the day it's the board who sanction players fees and wages.

I'm more concerned,as are others, with the insulting language. The tenets of the "statement" may or not bear fruit. But if you're intent on your usual wind - up rhetoric, knock yourself out.

Why is it that QPR fans have a hard time accepting the truth?

Fernandes has wasted alot of money over the past couple of seasons, he has made a mess of things, we are in a mess. However is Smiths problem Fernandes, or is his problem QPR and his Faulingate story where we did not get done in the way I dare say he hoped.
Put it this way I doubt Smith is in the slightest bitconcerned about QPR fans etc when he's doing this. Shouldn't be allowed to spew it in the way he has done. I mostly agree with what Clive has said earlier on in the thread as there is a lot to suggest Fernandes doesn't really know what he's doing and every suggestion a mess will ensue if as seems likely we are in Championship next year.

You really think that there is a possibility that they will charge us that much?
That really would be a BIG mistake for them to make...
I'm expecting them to drop the prices to be honest, not by much but enough so that they are seen to be making an effort on our behalf.

I think they'll freeze them at this year's prices - which is about £600 silver, £700 gold and £800 higher if I remember correctly. Absolutely extortionate for Championship football but they'll dress it up as a 'price freeze'.

Anyone know how many STs they sold this season? They mostly sell out all home areas and have done all season, however one would assume they realise at least 2K are PL daytripper types one would think? This excludes away sales.

Yeah that would be bad. Although they would add to their sales pitch that you would be getting 23 games and not 19...
I think £450 would be a fairly reasonable price, roughly £20 a game. Obviously a complete impossibility but I bet that a lot of Championship clubs don't charge any more than that.
Then again I remember buying a season ticket for £97 not too long ago.

Yes and their sales pitch on promotion was you were getting better quality games, even though there were less. They must not take the pis out of us on this, they'll totally lose the support of the fans if they do.

Just don't see how this is TF's fault. Yes he sanctioned wages and transfer fees, but i assume he was happy to pay those rates and that has nothing to do whether he knows about football or not, balancing the books is business which is his department, and he has repeatedly said we are not going into financial meltdown. This is down to the Hughes regime, they were brought in to run the club. We got promoted under Flavio's stewardship, so does that make him the best chairman we had?.......No of course it doesn't it was Neil Warnock, the man brought in to run the club who saved us and was responsible for our promotion, not Flavio.

Amit was chairman when we were promoted and SHOULD have remained so. Fernandes let his ego get the better of him in replacing Amit when he clearly knows nothing about football.
