As has been said previously if Coleman does come in then best wishes to Accy on finding a successor, will take a good one to replace him. Wouldn't want to be in there shoes.

Shouldn't that be 'their clogs'?

Having just had a quick look over at the Accy messageboard it would appear they dont like outsiders, they are probably feeling the same as we were when barnsleys lot came on here with the whole hill/croft thing to be fair, so we shouldn't add salt to their wounds.

If this does happen it will be interesting to see who would get the vacant job at Accrington

Chris Beech or Steve Err for me!!!!!!

Dale granted permission to talk to Coleman... on 21:51 - Jan 22 by ColDale

there's a key line in the statement which states that Coleman has been involved in these discussions. Seems to me that Coleman has asked for permission to speak to us.

spot on

Some of them Stanley fans are pretty deluded. Can't believe one of them said "I absolutely hate Rochdale!" Always had a soft spot for Stanley thought it a bit strange. Also numerous posts about how massive a club Bradford are and how Coleman turned them down haha.

Agreed. It's also pretty laughable that one of their fans said they could 'bypass' us on the way up as we get relegated through the leagues (disgregarding the fact that they'd be HUGE favourites to go down if they managed to go up) ! Let's be honest, Coleman has worked wonders and probably taken Accy as far he can. Rochdale is a new challenge for him and it's with great pleasure that I can actually say that we are a bigger club than them (pleasure because we don't get to say it often!) so I can actually see where the appeal is. As for the Bradford thing..lulz

Rob Heys seems confident that Coleman will stay at Accy. Mind games on his part or something he knows will scupper a deal? Only time will tell!

Reading into the rumours etc from Saturday it seems compensation has been agreed, permission given. It's just down to whether Coleman wants to uproot himself from Accy and get to grips with a new challenge

Reading the BBC report which gives a quote from Coleman at the end of the article sounds like he is ready for a move. Not sure if it describes Dale though.

I think the end statement is the bit that was 'missing' from the report at weekend.

Seems he has 'ambition' beyond League Two........

My take on all this, is that personal terms were agreed with Coleman on Friday but he wanted to do the right thing by Accy and see them through their fixture down at Aldershot - and fair play to him for that

This morning, he's not so much taking training as saying his goodbyes to the players who've fought for him over the years

This "permission to speak" business is a retrospective "let's go through the proper channels" statement, whereas all parties knew exactly what was happening since late last week

It could be that Coleman wanted a day to himself on Sunday, for reflection and a chat with his family and his assistant Jimmy Bell

Naturally, I'll have more egg on my face than a Cyril Smith omelette if he doesn't join us now, but that's my problem!

That's my take on the situation as well.

Going back to my previous post on Rob Heys, for the benefit of those without Twitter, here's some of whats he's said...

"Permission given for Rochdale to speak with Coley, it's a very early step in what would be a very long process #keepthefaith"

"@mattyholden: Sad if John Coleman leaves and @Procter06 gone within 2 weeks not good @robheys” Great move for Proc, Coley still the boss!"

"@hargreaves_rob: @robheys sun claim only getting £70k compensation" Don't believe everything you read, stick to reliable sources!"

"Loads of tweets about Coley as expected, being fair to him to let them talk, but this morning he's busy taking training ahead of Saturday"

"@BumbleCricket have some faith Mr Lloyd"

Confident that Coleman will stay, or trying to convince himself that Coleman will stay because he doesn't want to contemplate Accy without him? Either way, it makes for an interesting few days!

Whether he joins us or not he has put himself in the shop window in the sense that he is now prepared to leave Stanley for another club. Stanley are now at some time going to lose their manager to another club. Last week his club sold Procter the club captain. Was that against his wishes? And am I right in thinking that allegedly Stanley couldn't pay the wages on a couple of occasions last season?

It seems RP's "trusted contacts" have come good, as there is no way (well there should be no way) that he would commit that article to publication otherwise.

Although why he keeps saying Bogdanovic has Premier League experience is beyond me. He joined Blackpool after their relegation from the Premier League, and has only played Championship football with Barnsley and Sheffield United other than that.

Not sure how Rob Heys statement on twitter about it being a long process fits into what has been rumoured/how close it is to being done.

Just retweeted a couple of tweets from Dany Robson (MEN reporter who covers Accy Stanley), she's spoken with Ilyas Khan...

"Khan: It's Coley's decision and, although they will be gutted if he does go to Rochdale, they will not stand in his way #asfc"

"Compensation won't be a big issue despite length of Coley's contract at Accy. Down to the Reds' boss to decide."

**Edit** Sorry, I meant "my sources" have told me. D'oh!
