In terms of the millions we've been spending lately it wouldn't take much to put in decent facilities and upgrade the pitches. It probably is a good balance between site cost and distance from the club. I'm presuming it would be bought freehold or at least on a long lease from the local authority. Would that deprive locals of available pitches or are they not in use now? I suppose it might be possible to do a deal where QPR take part of the site in exchange for upgrading the other part for use by the public.

Bizzarely, my school was near Swiss Cottage (NW8) so god knows why we had to go out that direction & distance but as it meant an extra lesson to allow for travelling and a drive past QPR, I didn't care!

Juzzie was your school Quinton Kynaston by any chance?

I went to Hampstead Comp but had quite a few mates at QK.

Wow that was long journey for you for school sports.

At least we didn't have to put the nets up there.
Myself & QPR1882 being two of the tallest were pleased about that.

One game was called off, handily because we only had 10 men at kick off, because of rabbit holes, hence Warren Farm.

Better fill those in quick or we'll lose SWP down one of them... :)

Played there a couple of months ago - Still a complete sh!t hole!! Gonna take a couple of million to get it up to standard. Ealing council still own it.

Dont think i have played there but seems like a big site. i assume a deal will be done with Ealing council where we develop it and take half making the other half available to local teams/sports.

While it is local to HQ and some players (Faulin Chiswick) when we sign these fancy big name stars i assume they will be living out in mansions in the countryside so would it not be tough enough to get to traffic wise? For the opposite reasons it would be a good location for a new Academy assuming this will happen with the new development.

Played there a fair bit when I was a kid. Remember it always being bloody cold and very windy.

Did think the club would have gone for the old Barclays Bank ground off Hanger Lane (where we trained before buying the Gas Fields in Acton) but this is a huge site with a lot of potential, especially with the Academy requirements.

You can get there via tentalowe lane ( sp ) from Hounslow/Southall.

Is that the minor road that leads to the mini-roundabout by the width restriction? Always wondered where that led to. Now I know, best avoided!

Wonder what sort of deal the club has got on it ,if freehold or a long lease with free dom to develop it with ie Sport's clinic, physio center training center for the public this could be a top location with easy access as good as london based

Played there for 4 years until we moved to Lord Halsbury's
the fact we moved there should tell you all you need to know about the Current state of Warren Farm. We had no hot water for 2 years!

On saying that the pitches farthest away were lovely and like playing on a carpet. An older fella told me back in the day they were some of the best in West London while I was having a tea and ciggie pre-game.

Yeah that wind was killer, especially if you are in goal and the opposition are rubbish. Climbing over the fence to get the ball back was no fun either.

Brunel have a nice set of pitches. You have to walk down a main road in kit to get to them but they are top pitches.

The best I played at was last year near Headstone Manor/Lane? It's a cricket ground with a Radio/Mobile mast in the corner. Bootiful, bootiful as the late B.Mathews would say.

What are the pitches that you can see adjacent to the Met Line around Harrow, looking south (London college?)...

(No, I don't mean Wembley!)

Hm, memories I played for Twyford.

How old are ya fella?

Did anyone ever play at Liverpool Victoria's sports ground in Gunnerbury Lane? Directly opposite Acton Town Station? That's where our Middle School (Berrymede) played there home matches. Cracking pitches and facilities there.

well W7, I will be 65 in August and left Twyford in 1962. Most of the football fan pupils supported Brentford so at that time With our poor results I was always getting stick. Also played in goal for the Tech part of the school.
