Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers : Match day Thread on 13:27 - Dec 22 by SullutaCreturned | Well I think we can win this. It might take KW doing something different mind. How's this, instead of playing Grimes with Fulton, try Franco with Fulton and push Grimes into CAM? Tell Grimes he's not to get into his own third of the pitch and he;s to concentrate on creating chances. Then start Ronald AND Eom and tell them to get into the box and shoot on sight. Then tell our full backs to not both push up at the same time and when one does then one of the CDM's drops back to cover. Maybe it's a silly idea but I'd like to see some goals for us and if we are to lose I'd rather do it trying to score rather than through our own negativity. |
You're asking for creativity from LW and his players, something that is sorely lacking at the moment and for much of this season.

Yep, literally no creation yet we are 11th. Mostly down to our centre halves and goalkeeper and we still haven't sorted the CHs contracts out. They imo are the first signings the new regime should sort out by next month.

We have to accept Cabango will probably sign and Darling is gone. I might be the only one but I believe we are not going up or down. January we need to start planning for next season and plan for the future. Regretfully at my age because I try to enjoy every season, as you get older you don't know how many you have left.

You don't need creativity to throw the ball into the opposition's box, you have already gained an advantage of being in control of the ball in the opposition third. Instead we give that advantage away by keeping possession and ending back with the keeper which was the original position you trying to gain an advantage from. You can help creativity by getting the ball quickly in the box or down the channels with balls you can run onto or then having the support of players with good movement off the ball. Key's goal last year was a n example Lowe getting a well chosen clearance into space down the line, Lowe looked to be heading into a avenue that was being closed off but with Key's support, one pass along the ground to the oncoming player, who with one touch beat the static defender and another to score. It doesn't always need five or six touches of a ball to be creative, if someone is taking that many they usually get closed down, often it is the winning of the ball in tight places, quick passes to get out of those tight place to players who offer themselves in space with good movement. I think that freedom to act quickly is being stifled, one by the opposition as would be expected of the, two by playing too deep, three our set up is wrong and four the fear of losing possession. That fear is killing any creativity. [Post edited 24 Dec 9:16]

Why do we persist in a player getting a pass then passing it straight back and then repeat and rinse. Utter madness Same with a keeper actually walking on the field of play then stopping to put his foot on the ball then look up and pass it straight to the opposition proving it’s not thinking football at all. It’s just daft . Eventually, a ball will have to be cleared from a threatening position,so do it from the start . We encourage players to pass even on our own goal line with opposition pressing

Time to step up to the plate and put a 90 minutes performance in

Would be the perfect game to get the teams Mojo back and keep the fans onside. Hope everyone gets what they want for Christmas, have a good one!
Swansea City v Queens Park Rangers : Match day Thread on 23:41 - Dec 24 with 1829 views | Swans9 | A bit of hope is it is nearly Christmas and QPR are better at home than away. I'm sure we are due a dodgy pen for a soft hand ball or a little bit of a contact challenge. Other teams seem to get pens.

Maybe Franco won't play if he's off next Wednesday or shortly after. Expect there to be a surprise or two on the bench.

If he goes, just who replaces him. The very last player we should sell. Others are seeing his ability and how we ruin it . He will be a terrific asset for someone ,sadly not ours it seems as our coach ( thinks) he knows best

We can’t seriously consider selling him. One our midfield is a lot better with him in it and two he hasn’t been here long enough to reach his true value. I think he’ll be worth a lot more in 12-18 months.

The Swans would be absolutely daft to think of getting rid of him. This season he is learning, next season with a good summer and strength building he could be phenomenal.

Was he signed on a four year contract? It would seem like pure folly to sell him now unless there are issues with fitness. Grimes need someone who can let him get further up the park, I personally don't want Grimes anywhere near our defensive third, where he is expected to be the primary protection for the defence he is too slow and primary distributor of the ball there is no need for him there half the time he is, want to see him offering himself further up the park. Let's see if we can hold onto some quality new midfielders so the old guarded can be rested.
