That was a beautiful goal - tackle pass, movement, wallop - that's what you want to see in football.

Such unexpectedly superb entertainment, really was.

Eric your frustration is completely justified - for France to have played a first half like that, produced what they did after the penalty save and then still allow 2 further goals - unreal. I'd imagine they'll be in for some shit when they get back home.

It's OK, they kept their toilet-flushing within guidelines.

There was a bit of cowbell tbh

The two sides of Paul Pogba there. Unbelievable goal but then careless in the build up to the Swiss equaliser. You'd think with Kante with him, that would be a dream midfield but it was all over the place last night.

Famous last words but the refereeing has been absolutely superb all tournament. Freakishly so.

Geneva. It's a proper local derby here.

Why are people getting angry about a silly goal celebration? Who cares if he looked like a tw at?

Those sorts of celebrations are convention in that part of the world.

The BBC football site links to French Eurosport's player ratings. Their poetic summary...
Pogba - du talent, des absences.

Very frustrating game for me. A strange mix of stupidity (new system with Lenglet who hasnt played for months), arrogance, tiredness, not being together, injuries, we didnt click much in the whole tournament. Not at all what we're used to with DD.

Of course Switzerland played really well, but at 3-1, 10 minutes from time, to let them back in the game was quite frankly really bad. For the last goal the defense just opening like that, giving so much space to their striker, WTF! Feeling similar to Bulgaria 1993.

Anyway, good luck to you all this evening!

The strange thing is...in this tournament France always looked like they could step up a gear, but they were completely unprepared to deal with Switzerland stepping up a gear.

I heard Jean Phillippe LeClaire interviewed on OTB this morning and he thought it was a bad decision to play Lenglet and that France had been too arrogant.

Can't argue with that. The first half was completely thrown away

With their pace they are made for hitting you quickly on the break but the Swiss and the switch to 5 at the back nullified that and they did not have much of a plan b

It’s hard cheese for the French.
