R Sterling 07:28 - Sep 1 with 3976 views | barbicanranger | How good is this guy going to be? At first (last season) I thought just a strong premier league player but watched the Spurs v LFC highlights earlier and he was superb, still only 19. He also had a good game against Southampton and took his goal very well and was one of the few players to come back from Brazil with his reputation reinforced. I suspect if these performances continue a Barça or Madrid will come knocking, especially if he gets exposure to champions league games. Unreal to think he was at Qpr and what could have been in another time and place.
R Sterling on 07:54 - Sep 1 with 3941 views | ElHoop | I'm with you on this, he's a superb player. Hopefully he has grown up a bit now as well. I'll give Rodgers his due, he seems to be able to get the best out of some slightly wayward talents. If he can keep doing that and avoids further tactical disasters like the Chelsea game then he can get Liverpool back to the top. On the other hand Gerrard is getting old, he might not improve tactically and the good players will keep leaving. It will be interesting, but in the meantime Sterling is a great talent. I had a few quid on him to be top goalscorer which probably won't happen but I think that that he'll score a few. A bit of a Messi type.
R Sterling on 09:46 - Sep 1 with 3847 views | Hunterhoop | Such a good player with so much potential given how good he is at only 19. Based on how he's been playing for the last 12 months now, including at the WC, England should really be looking to play him in the middle behind the forward and they should be building the team around him, as Rodgers is doing. If that means Rooney is bumped to the wing or wherever, so be it. Sterling is clearly the player opposing sides least like to face. His pace and first touch leaves players for dead. Play him on the wing and they can use the touchline for support. Play him in the middle and there's little teams can do. He's far more threatening and difficult to play against that Rooney.

Yes I agree entirely, but it's the same old story with England and players as good as that - will they actually do it this time? Rooney is now captain, which doesn't bode well.
R Sterling on 10:09 - Sep 1 with 3787 views | GroveR | He needs to add a bit more composure in front of goal. That dribble past four in the box in the second half was sublime and deserved to be finished.

That's true but in a way he actually needed less composure, because he should have just belted it once he'd got the space. That's what was great about Remy, he didn't wait or take a touch if it wasn't necessary, he just hit it.

Do you have that much of an ego that you think that we are interested in what doesn't interest you? Well I'm more interested in Ashley Young than I am in what doesn't interest you. OK?

I used to say the same about Dexter Blackstock - if he had time to think about it, he'd invariably fluff it. Not that I'm classing Dexter with Remy or Sterling. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Rodgers has managed him brilliantly so far, if that continues, and injury doesnt affect him too much, he could be right up there as one of the worlds best. A future Real Madrid player!

R Sterling on 14:12 - Sep 1 with 3589 views | DANRANGER | showing real class and agree he will be on the list for Barca & Real already. Presuming a figure upwards of 50m will be required in a year or 2 and please tell me we did negotiate a sell on clause. On the England front, he should be in the middle but Roy being Roy bottled it after a great individual performance against Italy and put Rooney back in there. I like Rooney but he is not as good as Sterling in that role with the players we have. Rooney should be battling with Sturridge for the 9 shirt and I'd go Sturridge right now. He can play on the wing but not as effective and England being England will find a way to cock it up.
