All season I have been frustrated with Vorm's performances because we all know he is a very good goalkeeper. I do feel that we need to increase the competition for the position at the very least and I can't think of too many available goalkeepers that I would prefer to Fabianski.
In an ideal world we replace Tremmel with Fabianski and let Vorm and the latter fight it out for the shirt - it's harsh on Tremmel really because he has been a good second choice 'keeper for us for the most part. As has been mentioned though, Vorm wouldn't stick around if he didn't play every week so we would be likely to have Fabianski and Tremmel. Would everyone be happy with that? Given a straight choice between Vorm and Fabianski, I would probably slightly side with Vorm. |  | | |

Well it is nice to see a positive report in the press. Hope this one is true. Vorm has cost us quite a few points this season. If this came about he would have to accept it and fight for his place. I hope he rediscovers his form but we cannot afford to stand by and wait. [Post edited 8 May 2014 18:22]

I don't know what Vorm is on but probably less than Fabianski who earns £2.08m (£40,000 / week), you could reduce his wage over a 3 year deal and pay a sign on fee if he was felt to be the right guy ...... |

Craig Gordon was an excellent 'keeper before the injury would be a great signing if he's ok now. Fabianski is prone to the odd mistake but would still definitely have him here. If he really wants first team football then it's not as if he'd be on £200 and 100 L+b per week here is it?  |  | | |

I try not to be too reactionary and look at performances over the course of a full season. In Vorm's case, I think he's had a very easy ride. He needs to be pushed for his place and show the desire to go for every shot.

'Flabianski' was coined when he was inexperienced, and made quite a few mistakes. Since then he's matured as a goalkeeper very well, and has done very well for Arsenal in cup competition even to the extent where there were calls for him to be played regularly in the league this season.
It's is as unfair to criticize Fabianksi for his mistakes years ago as it is to criticize Wayne Routledge for his time at Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle. Both players have clearly improved as footballers since then.
On a free transfer he'd be a great signing. | |
