Watching at home the abysmal Stream UK Media Services match coverage set the tone for the afternoon.
For me the draw was a fair result, sure Wednesday looked the more likely but that isn’t enough to win football matches, goals are.
I will let those more football savvy dissect the game and tell us why we were so poor today, we looked so disjointed, hardly bothering to use the left-hand side of the pitch. No point singling out individual players, this was a poor team performance although the fighting spirit was still there.
A reactivated release clause sounds totally bonkers but we live in a totally bonkers world now so we shouldn't be surprised. Stan's contract was probably two pages long when he signed for us, Eze's was probably nearer eighty pages when he signed for Palace.
Rest In Peace Kenneth. Randall and Hopkirk was one of the better ITC series that graced our screens in the sixties and seventies.
Those ITC series still enjoy a large cult following and include The Saint, The Prisoner, The Champions, The Persuaders and all of the Gerry Anderson shows.
I saw them at Hammersmith in 1987 I think and yes it was my best ever concert as well. It was the Live In New Orleans line up, almost the same set list, Frankie and the Boys at their peak. Blown away.
If anyone reading this doesn't really know Maze give this a try, you even get a great guitar solo! Rest In Peace Frankie.
I consider myself an atheist but an atheist with an open mind. There are things going on that we don't know about.
I experienced a week back in the 90's when I knew things were going to happen in advance. Nothing major but things such as;
If I buy a scratch card I will win £20. I did.
The train to York I regularly travelled on had first class at the rear, second class at the front. Waiting on the platform the board stated this was the case, the announcement on the Tannoy confirmed the same but I knew that the train would arrive back to front so walked down to the other end of the platform. I was right.
Walking down Loftus Road on the Saturday afternoon I knew that Danny Shittu would score the first goal. I don't gamble but put a fiver on this and collected £45 after the game.
Difficult to explain but these feelings were so strong, I just knew. I haven’t experienced anything similar since.
Fast forward twenty years and a stranger approached my sister during a large works party and gave her a message from our deceased father that only we would have known.
I think after death we will find out 'what this is all about' otherwise what is the point? If I don't find out I will be pretty annoyed.
Well done Jack. This will be huge for him like it has been for Emma Raducanu.
I read this on the BBC website last week.
Raducanu’s registered company, Harbour 6, posted profits of just under £10 million in 2023. Her prize money for that season was less than £200,000 due to lengthy injury lay-offs, so most of that income is likely to have come from her nine major sponsorship deals with British Airways, Vodafone, Tiffany, Dior, Porsche, Evian, Wilson, Nike and HSBC.
The Odeon Park Royal located between Park Royal and Hanger Lane Tube Stations, now a Premier Inn. It was a 6, 7 minute walk from our house, the film was A Hard Days Night.
I remember my parents going to watch the early Bond films, my father was always suited and booted, my mother wore an evening dress, that was the norm back then.
This is disappointing news and as Brian says it could have a negative impact on the club.
Also surprising news as Clive recently said that Ben and Christian were close and that Ben was getting involved in other areas of the club.
You only have to look at our injury record last season and how players such as JCS and Willock just kept playing.
We have to hope that Ben is leaving the club on good terms, that he has passed his knowledge and experience on to those in his department and that the club continue with any working practices, procedures etc that Ben has implemented.
