Although I agree with the views about the delaying tactics employed by the Napoli police, we were on bus 4 from Rome, a journey that should have taken 2 and a half hours to reach the point where our police escorts were waiting. But 45 minutes into the journey we had an unexpected service station stop ( Mark from on the ball travel was surprised we were stopping so soon) from where certain individuals on our coach decided to steal alcohol etc and boast about it in front of the driver on their return to the coach!
We then had a second service station stop a little later.
On eventually meeting our police escorts we also were taken on a long winded route before we arrived at the stadium when our coach was called to the front of the queue and had "special attention" from the police we were all kept on board whilst the police got into position. We then had to leave the coach one by one holding our passports in front of our faces and were then all photographed! Thanks to a few idiots we were all treated as criminals!!
We got into the ground just before Napoli scored, not a nice experience being surrounded by shield wielding police and having to run up all those flights of stairs. But we could have been in much sooner if those idiots hadn't stolen things!
Being herded like cattle into a pen at the end of the game wasn't the best experience either. |
