Nothing compares to watching QPR live. Live football IMO is always better than on the telly. TV coverage is usually awful, pundits, adverts, no atmosphere etc. None of the fancy analysis, graphs, charts, replays from multiple angles, half time commentary could ever make staying at home a preferred option. Rain or shine, I want to be at Loftus Road. It’s an integral part of my love for QPR. It’s part of the identity of the club.
But…being able to attend games doesn’t make me anymore of fan. If you love Rangers that’s all good, doesn’t matter where you are in the world or how you watch the game. Everyone has different circumstances and I’m sure if we could we’d all love to watch the R’s at Loftus Road. The buzz you get from the collective joy of celebrating a goal can’t be replicated by TV. Dunne’s winner last season is a great example, you had to be there!
Is Dykes better than Sylla? The stats suggest perhaps not and here's a little reminder:
Let's be honest, Dykes isn't as bad as people are making out, and he isn't as good as some may believe. His standard is pretty much in keeping with most of our strikers of recent times. I don't think he deserves the criticism he get's and we shouldn't forget we haven't had a good striker since Austin MK1 - the sooner we forget Austin MK2 the better.
Smyth struggled today and Plymouth exploited it. We spent the rest of the game trying to accommodate him.
Madden, not impressed. Didn’t get involved and spent long periods drifting…but he did look okay the few times he got on the ball. He seems more inclined to go forward, which is a positive. My feeling during the game was that he’s potentially Dozzell mk2. I hope I’m wrong.
Celar, also unimpressive.
I thought Dunne, Dembele and Frey were the stand out players.
It’s only August and I think we’ll see big improvements. Not going to s**t the bed yet, but that was disappointing and frustrating, especially after the first goal where it looked like we would steam roll them.
The club must be unrecognisable to the 'legacy' fan, hahah.
I watched a few minutes of Scum/Citeh highlights on MOTD2 and had to turn off. Everything about the spectacle has horrible and made worse by the awful coverage, puts me right off football.
I suppose this is the logical conclusion to the great EPL experiment and a club like Chelsea with no integrity are the perfect poster boys.
Steinbeck is an excellent writer and fully deserves his acclaim. He didn't win a Nobel prize for nothing!
I do think it's interesting that you say some would find it 'entry-level' because that's where the quality of the work is . It's clear, accessible writing. That takes immense skill and shouldn't be overlooked. He's a natural story teller and a great writer, as opposed to a writer with ideas, if that makes sense.
I've never seen a ref change a decision as a result of a player moaning at them.
When you can see a game going a certain way, why don't players 'read the room' and play to the ref instead of constantly complaining about their decisions?
I followed the game on the BBC. Seemed like the type of draw that feels like a win. A lot of positives from the second half - Saito being one. Looking forward to next Saturday! U’rrrrrrrs!
The attitude towards the League Cup is an unfortunate by-product of the modern game, more specifically the Premier League.
It's more valuable for clubs to play games abroad then waste their time going to places like Stevenage for a mid-week cup game.
Overseas tours aren't a new phenomenon, but I get the impression there was underlying respect for the league and cup competitions that gave English clubs their legacy and prestige that doesn't exist anymore. I guess people don't want that 'authentic' English football experience anymore, but the real question is how do clubs like ours survive in this modern football world?
Not into rap/hip-hop like use to be. In no particular order these are some of my favourite songs. There are plenty more great songs, but these are the first ones that come to mind.
This is from one of the best albums. I don't rate UK hip-hop but Klashnekoff is incredible.
I know this one technically isn't rap/hip-hop but I don't care.
