Great article. Sadly this sort of journalism is not limited to transfer deadline day or indeed football, but is more symptomatic of the 24 hour news culture that we live in, constantly needing to supply a new story. I guess we all need to realise that the purpose of all this is to get people to watch or read as appropriate and thus generate revenue. Providing factually correct news is some way down the list of priorities. |
| News Comment | Could Gabbidon signing mark a change in tack at Loftus Road? at 01:08:58
So this feels a little rich, as despite being a fan since I was 4 and enduring all those many years of disappointment, I didn't get to a single game last season. However, I am going to stick my oar in anyway. It strikes me from what I've read (not least on this website) and friends I have spoken to that the single best thing about the squad at the moment is Neil Warnock and yet unbelievably his position still remains in doubt. It seems that to have any chance of staying up next season, on whatever meager budget we are given, it is vital he remains our manager. Is it not time there was a concerted strong campaign of support for him. I am sure he and the board know he is popular with the fans, but if every game we start draping out huge Neil Warnock banners and sing his name continually for 15 minutes before every kickoff and generally go completely over the top, it would be possible to make him more or less unsackable, even to the gruesome twosome. What do you reckon? |
