Slade early 70’s at Wembley Empire Pool I was sat around 20 foot from a bank of speakers left side of stage and my ears still ring to this day. Learnt to live with it
My great uncle Bernie was a Bermondsey boy and loved his Millwall.
21st April 1973 He took me & my dad both Rangers to see them play QPR at the old Den. We sat in the main stand with Don Givens giving it large to the big terrace along the side when he scored the only goal of the game . Not many Rangers that day in the away corner to the left of the seating and who can blame them.
Fills up there very quickly I would get there no later than 90 mins before KO and then its risky. Car park between hopsital & Prison but you have to pay. (Lynford Christie Stadium)
Free on street parking in Wulfstan Street/Braybrook Street.
Walk back along Ducane Road, theres a foobridge opposite the hospital/zebra crossing. Cross the A40 at the lights but keep looking some bastards try to jump the lights at speed. Been several deaths over the years at these light.
There used to be a pedestrian subway there but I think even more deaths in there!
The guy doesnt seem to really want to show how good he can be. Over cautious to quick to pass backwards and is in decisive in attack. Often passes are poorly executed which I feel exposes his mental fragility.
He really needs to gamble a bit however he is probably under instruction not to give the ball away so is caught in 2 minds as to what to do = indecision.
Cant have helped seeing a legion of midfielders brought in for money knocking him down the pecking order. BUT he has had opportunity to prove himself...except he hasn't
I think a few of our midfielders(not Varane) should have been charged admission to the ground such was their casual half arsed approach in the first half. Lots of ball watching standing around letting Palace players do what they want.
Think it was 27 minutes before we got even close to their goal.
2nd half much better taking off EDB made a difference, that lads confidence looks totally shot which is such a shame as I’m sure there is a cultured ball player in there.
Like last season an unlucky deflection cost us progression to the next round. Same same but different
