great pod as ever. Didn't Kelman sign a new 2 year deal last year? I don't think he's out of contract this summer

Quirky Stat for you

Eustace will be the first manager in our history to take charge of back to back games against us at Loftus Road for different clubs

Last time we faced the same manager at home 2 games in a row was Danny Wilson for Barnsley in 1997 when Spencer got a hat trick and Sinclair scored that goal

who'd have thought that trying to win a cup game might actually help league form

Dembele is quite good on corners as well and is potentially back on Friday

Did Nardi Cost us the point?
at 12:28 12 Feb 2025

He made 3 saves in the game that meant it was still 0-0 when he sat down, I don't like the obvious time wasting from us but it didn't cost us, 5 mins was pretty standard

I thought we did fight fire with fire, we were just as bad at throwing ourselves on the floor, wasting time and running the clock down last night

Really very little in the game, both teams had spells where they were on top, a draw would have been fair but like a lot of games recently can't argue at a narrow win either way

We will lose games between now and the end of the season all about how quickly we bounce back, win on Friday and at Portsmouth then March is a great opportunity for us, if we won't get much out of these 2 games March looks a long and tricky month

Steve Cook on tonight's loss
at 10:17 12 Feb 2025

A lot went wrong for the winner, take your pick at who you blame

Paal & Chair for staying wide right for a throw in and not getting into position take the point and move on, the goal comes from a break down our right where Paal and Chair are on the other side of the pitch

Nardi getting far too invovled in the pushing and shoving and just looking for a foul rather than either punch the cross or stay on your line and save the header

Cook for losing the header, he was pushed but really he's a better player than one who gets caught out like that

Add into that it was a very good delivery from Coventry which we didn't manage all night from the same scenarios

He's done a great job at Blackburn but they won't go up and good time for him to move whilst his stock is high. If he keeps Derby up can see him doing something with them next season

the competition is far from irrelevant, it's been great this weekend a couple of brilliant games, knockout football at it's best. If it was a league game between a team at the top and a team at the bottom you can be sure the team at the top wouldn't play a full strength team maybe leave 1 or 2 out ahead of a game against a rival, it's no different in the cup

If Liverpool, QPR or other teams want to rest people and throw the games thats upto them, it doesn't devalue anything and for Liverpool it's certainly understandable when they have Everton on Wednesday and and a semi final a few days ago

This all comes imo from the top clubs who drive the message that cups don't matter so everyone copies them and then look shocked that it's the big club that always win them as their squads can cope with resting 4/5 players in the early rounds

Why can't they do both?
I'm not sure them losing today would help them staying up either, the confidence they must get from today will help them.
The 2 new centre halves they have were outstanding

Kelman played really well, never really had a chance for us up front, always played out wide
Looks like he's bulked up a bit

We've always got a taxi, is a really long walk
if you wait near Tescos outside ground they usually stop there after a game or you can order an uber

Sometimes they do a bus back to the statiom for away fans but we haven't managed to get on it the last few visits

Spurs were crap and I know they have injuries but starting Spence in midfield and Archie Gray at right back seemed mad, Gray must have played right back, left back and cenre half tonight, I wonder if they realise he's a midfield player.

Sander Berge is so much more phyiscal , dominates the midfield, they couldn't be more different in style
