45/46 points has usually been enough to avoid the dreaded drop.
With Doncaster, Salford, Swindon within 6 or 7 points of that figure how many points do we believe we will need to escape relegation?

Plight of Torquay, I suspect is tip of the iceberg as, for example Rochdale are close to administration.

So the inevitable but still sad day has come with Sir Alistair Cook retiring.
Not the prettiest of batsman but certainly the best accumulator of runs England and Essex have ever had imo.
Thank you Chef for the last 20 years and enjoy retirement and working on your farm.

So boarders how are you feeling about our prospects this coming season?
Personally am a bit worried as think we are weaker defensively if we have an injury or two plus another convinced we can score the volume of goals needed.
Hope Samson can make a name for himself
Suspect we will finish mid table but guess that is an improvement over the last 3 years!

It seems our neighbours are once again the subject of an HMRC winding up order and £16m of debts have recently been transferred to the club by the Chairman.
With the transfer embargo in place it must be of real concern to their fans as rather like, for example Bury they must be in reL danger this time.e of loosing their club.

Recently saw our average in season 75/76 was 3169.
During the intervening time we have gone above that figure and below but spooky to think despite Colchester's population more than doubling in that period we are attracting roughly the same number to games!
