Knew we were going to lose Piroe but losing Ntcham was a big loss of quality in areas that we thought we were going to be at a good standard in, the players can see what is happening in the club and must have an effect on their descions.
Totally agree about the services provided within the stadium over priced drink and food ripping off fans, the service ion the East stand concourse is so appalling vitual no-one is looking to get refreshment at half time, which in itself has to affect the clubs profits, so let's have another price hike again! Marketing waving money bye bye. Almost as low as the crowds in the first season the stadium was opened.
Even those three clubs have had some up and down results, we seem to have a stable and consistent back four which hopefully won't be badly affected by individual players missing the odd game be it suspension or in need of a rest. If we can create more good attacking situations and take our chances then nothing so say we cannot compete in this league. Would like to see it sooner than later giving the likes of Cabango and Darling something to think about when taking into consideration of where their future lies, Trundle and Leon both thought the grass was greener elsewhere but was that the case? Better the devil you know, the manager does seem to be adaptable and seems to have managed the team well given some of the obstacles that have affected the team and at least although we don't have a great strength in depth when the substitutions are mad they aren't as idiotic as Martin's moving players around only to reverse his descions a couple of minutes later causing chaos nor does he seem as stubborn as to not change things to suit players at his disposal
Abdulai seems the exception but hopefully with time of his side he can finally be picked in a position that suit his skill set or he can adapt.
N. Tjoe-A-On was also on the bench on Saturday if Christie didn't impress, will some one else get the call when Naugton starts flagging and needs swapping.
We shall see, has William started Allen both on a Saturday and the following midweek game? Perhaps he a little more match fit so can start with another 50 or so minutes. This league is so tight a good run can get us into the play off positions not going to consider a bad one especially with the settled back line and goalie.
With Fulton, Cooper out, Franco and Allen not getting a full ninety then we need to have enough options to hold that midfield higher up the park instead of being pushed back. Any thought as we need two players subbed in the middle each game at the moment so need two players. Any thoughts?
I had my concerns after the Gillingham game two nil up, comfortable but we went all out attack conceded a late one while still playing all out attack could have conceded another fortunate them not to and score, a third on the full time whistle to make it look a more comfortable win than it was.
Agree with that and similarly would you being two nil up away from home bring Fulton on the see out the game if you have to take both Franco and Allen off.
Two members of the squad now unavailable. Looking at the bench surprised to see Govea but no Parker? For me as part of late substitutions to defend leads I would still.want a viable threat and I thought Parker has shown enough to be one of the first choices to come on yet doesn't get on the bench before Govea? Still not up to speed yet?
Nice to get a win, haven't seem much of the game only the highlights. Did Grimes play a more central role further up the pitch to control the game from there with Franco and Allen? I persnally think the team performs better with Allen starting because we as we look.more effective, able and quicker pushing forward. I also liked the fact that for the goal as we pushed and Oxford tried the counter attack, with Key's pace he was in the right position to stop their attack and was then able to quickly turn it into attack so both Key, Ronald and Vipotnik could exploit the space left open with well timed passes, runs and finish looking as if we were in control in what we were doing. Turning defensive situations quickly into attacking with the space created. We seem to create the space with Bianchini goal as well.
For me I want to see the fullbacks hold their defensive positions then being able to counter attacks quickly as the opposition commits forward.
I have seen too many times as the two centrehalves push up making much wanted driving runs through the middle with no cover for their runs. Manning was notorious for it going so high up the pitch leaving no cover even when he was part of a three man defence and one of the other defender was pushing on with the ball.
Sometimes a manager forced to change the team because of injury can have a positive effect as things are tweaked to suit new players, as a manager may have been reluctant to drop a player thinking they were doing a good job.
I'm sure Key could play comfortably on the wing but why he has better control and of more use in the midfield, with Christie playing as full back and Parker in front on the wing Ronald into the centre forward position and Key adding pace and control in the midfield able to assist Franco and Cooper get the ball into dangerous areas quicker.
The service for Ronald has been poor expecting him to take players on from a standing start, he was given a lot better ball last year and even the start of this, his crossing has always been in consistent but it the box he is a nuisance, the sooner we get in the box the more trouble he will cause.
Thought he replace Stephen Kingsley who we let go as part of the deal, we didn't have any cover in that position so various midfielders were asked to cover but unsuccessfully if only we kept Kingsley he would of progressed with the players around him and developed into a world class left back and Clucas could have blossomed into a fans favourite in the midfield being our main man. Anybody else on the forum also watch or read Marvel's "What If" version of events and bangs on about it?
The bar was set high but given that I approach the band from a different era and working backward from Holland and 20/20, which are a couple of my first excluding cheap complilations album, to Pet Sounds, I do hold various of their albums in high esteem, along with various tracks off late later albums.
Big part of my life since the very early 70s, something different, also was always listening to the radio in the sixties as a very young child so some of the stuff released in the UK in the late 60s must have stuck . It has subtitles and you can get the CD if you search the the info on main page. Also a Back to the Beach Boys documentary about the performance and band that has a mixture of English/American and Belgium speaking contributors and a rather fetching conductor.
