Are we as fans really that unhappy to return to the Championship?

I’d attribute that mainly to the gibbons currently in charge.

Newcastle Ticket Exchange
at 12:33 22 Jan 2025

I’m undecided whether to waste an afternoon at the temple of doom so haven’t bothered to list my ticket on the exchange. In all likelihood I’ll decide Saturday morning whether to go or not. I’ve paid out the money already for the season ticket so as Wizzler the wise said, I’d be saving money by not getting the train down/drinking/eating.

You keep saying that. Everyone realises the players aren’t good enough.

Record breakers

I just think, games like last night where United were poor and well below par are our best chance of picking up points. It's difficult to see where we are going to get the next one as we seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or even a draw.

Record breakers

Despite the muted optimism at last nights performance (same old same old in terms of result) I cannot unfortunately see us getting another point this season. I genuinely think 6 points is our lot. I do hope I am wrong obviously but fail to see where we can gain points.

For no discernable reason (Dibbling aside) subs were made last night, not to change things around formation wise but it seemed just to get some fresh legs on the pitch. To my untrained eye, it didn't look like Aribo or Fernandes were blowing out their behind. If the thinking was to save legs for Forest, surely as we were in the game it would have been better to go for it.
One other thing, I can't remember when we last made changes in a game that positively impacted the outcome (probably last season I guess).

I first heard a group of Man city fans singing that back in 99ish along with another witty ditty about Leicester.

Southampton FC Chairman Stepping Down

All of a sudden I'm convinced we'll start to get it right. Dragan has spoken and is as frustrated as me at the football. Just take my season ticket renewal money ASAP please...

Bell ends the lot of them, couldn't organise a piss up in a fanzone this mob.

FA Cup tomorrow
at 09:05 12 Jan 2025

Definitely this, Martin has been gone over a month now. No more possession based football causing needlesss mistakes at the back. I think Juric will put a strong team out in the hope of registering a win. But at the end of the day we lack premier league quality in pretty much every area. Can’t make a silk purse… but I think we’ll have enough to win 2-0 .

As if things could not get any worse for Saints

I was hoping that as Bazunu was bought purely for tippy tappy football he’d be superfluous to requirements when back fit now RM has gone.
It’s a hard choice to select which keeper from our squad if Ramsdale does go.

Saints free weekend for many
at 09:59 9 Jan 2025

With many people giving the Swansea game a swerve for numerous reasons...

Cost
Weather
It's on a Sunday
It's on TV
CBA
We're sh1t3.

What is everyone up to?

I am thinking of going to Farnham Town v Hayes and Yeading (my home town team) as it's local to me and it beats doing the chores/getting dragged around some shops etc.
Anyone else thinking of taking in a non league game?

Stand Up & Be Counted But Address The Real Issues Not The Petty Ones
at 13:07 6 Jan 2025

I agree with a lot of things in this post Nick, where I beg to differ is the part about fans protesting outside the stadium. We did that with Branfoot, we even did a sit in after one game on the Milton. What will send more of a message to the board will be a game inside a near empty stadium. It was only when crowds dropped at the Dell did the board finally register something needed to be done.
Perhaps the people who have purchased tickets for this weekend are the people who will fill the fanzones and the club will notice no difference on that front but to mask a fairly empty stadium as people not having money at this time of year or some such reason would be fairly remiss of them.

I didn’t realise Bedfords was closing yesterday. Went there before/after the dell back then. Think the last time I was there was before a gig at the loft several years back.
What is it being replaced with? A Tesco or co-op? Usually something like that when pubs close these days.
