In the car on the way back home... and reading the thread, yep not great but that is just one loss in seven, with a team half full of players who have little if no championship experience... I'll take that What is peeing me off is that it seems every goal we conced are worldies.... that as surely got to stop sooner rather than later OK it was not our best, but tell that to the 1200 odd who were here that, we celebrated like that was a win, and the players did as well... so perhaps not the prettiest, but we are fast becoming one of them teams that are hard to beat, and that is good. Not many positives to be honest, apart from the defence, who I thought was really good. For me MOTM was Dunne, playing full back in the other games, just slotted easily into CH Sadly we missed JCS today who gives us that out ball from defence, hope he is not out for long. All in all for me a satisfactory days out. Last year that lot beat us twice, so we are improving somewhat [Post edited 14 Sep 17:37]

Just joined the thread from here. Have we had a cull of centre halves? Far be it for me to question the Marti but when I saw that team coming into the ground I was a little worried that we would get what we have got...pretty disjointed and not at all in the game We have been shocking on the left, I'm not sure who is playing there, Madsen? Andersen? ...........if either then they are pretty sh!te at it. The defensive as been pretty competent, well it is still 0-0 so they haven't done too much wrong. The midfield is non existent, but that for me that is we are so weak on the left that there is little open for them. And Frey is just not in it due to again no service Surely Marti as got to change this and bring some width on. Don't really matter who he brings off, but must bring on Smyth and possibly Saito to liven us up The only realy positive is how many games have we seen when a team creates the amount that SW......not took them and lose!!! |

Been watching the new look England and hopefully McCullum can work a little magic. Not really impressed with Salt as captain. And I'm still trying to work out why we are playing Overington? 2 games and never bowled a ball yet. The young Aussie McGurk made an impressive 50, be interesting to see if Cox and Bethell can come good this time |

I was going to post but then read your reply... and really can't improve on that Hunter I have said on many an occasion that Field would be the first name on the team sheet for me. He really is a player you need to see playing at the ground. He is absolutely everywhere, and I bet if you asked the defence could they play without a Sam Field, the answer would be no |

Think tonight Gordon is showing why he should have played in Germany. Gives us so much width and can play the high press so we'll |

Another right footed left back.... only defender to start tonight is Trent... not sure about this to be honest Is Kane in because it's his 100? |

Decent half there for us. Chalk and cheese between that England and the one under Boregate Mainoo and Grealish running that midfield and Rice is playing a lot further up... im not sure we have an holding midfielder.... Gordon is having a good game as well... and Guéhi looks good as well. Not great opposition in all honesty. Think after 60 mins and we are still 2 up, be a few changes. Rest players for Tuesday, and also see what the others can do. Hope Eze gets on |

Early days but the decisions Southgate made is being shown as bad. Grealish is running this game, never went, Gordon is causing havoc down the left... got a minute ..... |

Well if we are to believe Carsley it is going to be a more high press attacking England, which we have always wanted Be an interesting game this... the Irish will be up for this, hope we are. I can see this being a draw tonight. But hopefully a new manager "bounce" So hopefully 2-0 to us |

I was a mate of their son David... They knew that my mum was bringing up 3 boys on her own so our "six of chips" and crackling... was a huge pile of cracking Same as the Bolts greengrocers on Noth Pole Road... her 5lb of taters and veg was inevitably 6 or 7 lbs... great people in those days |

Thought Paul Smyth was fantastic when he came. That whole first half we were being roasted down that side... Smyth Cameron and totally bossed it, and gave Jimmy the support he needs. Obviously Frey man of the match h, but that one on one save from Naardi was a big big moment, go 2 down and it is all over Fantastic support here tonight.... can't believe how good our support his. Again we were not brilliant, very good in patches, but we are becoming a team that finds a way to win That's 6 matches now with only one defeat.... which is pretty impressive... be a great drive back ..... you Rrrrrrs |

Just been skimming through the thread... and it is not any better here I can tell you Agree with nearly every post... we are looking rattled and if things don't change dramatically we could be in the bottom 3 going into the international break. Lloyd I'm afraid is not good enough... Jimmy is being roasted on the right .... Madsen looks a yard slower both physically and mentally... and the defence just don't look confident.... only Cook is having a decent game Should hook Jimmy for Santos... Smyth for Lloyd and Andersen for Madsen.... This could get very ugly if we don't do something and quick. Even Dembele is looking out of it. Frey though is looking decent and would keep him on Big 45 mins... seems we are always in this position of having big 45mins |

Totally agree and lots and lots of positives from that game regarding the new lads MOTM for me was Walsh though. That save from the corner was top draw and he was really assured all game Closely followed by Morrison who played really well against that forward line that was a premier one. |
